Under constitutional law Obama may not be qualified to be president of the USA , even though he was born in Hawaii.

Like McCain had to , he may have to prove he is eligible , and that could end up being a big NEGATIVE as , it would seem , he fails the actual criteria based on his mother's length of citizenship and his father's total lack there of.

The law is quite simple. Obama is a natural born US citizen. Any questioning is just a political ploy to diminish his standing.

It doesn't matter if Obama's dad was from Mars. Obama was born in the US and is automatically a US citizen.

 

I think it's just a ploy by stupid people to take advantage of stupider people.

Just like how they say, "Oh, he's muslim. His dad was. He swore in on the Koran."

Obama had to go on the record and refute it, yet there's some idiots out there that think he is.

To be President, one must be 35 years of age, a native citizen, and have resided for at least 14 years in the US (exceptions for military and govt. posts).If you meet those qualifications, you can be elected. Even retarded Obama supporters. :notallthere:

 

Here is the actual law for during the time Obama was born ... Unless the changes in law affect those born before , retroactively changing previous laws to benefit those born during the previous laws criteria , it appears , Obama would not actually be considered a "natural born" citizen.

Obama was born to Stanley Ann Dunham when she was 18. Obama's father was not a US citizen and Stanley Ann Dunham did not live in the USA for 5 years after the age of 16.


For Barack Obama to have been a legal natural born US Citizen ACCORDING TO THE LAW for that time period ... she's have had to have been 21 to have Obama and make him a Natural Born Citizen.


To be President of the USA .... you MUST be a Natural Born Citizen which is why McCains citizenship was being questioned ... Even though his parents were both citizens ... because he was born on a military base in Panama.

It's really a bitch move. This isn't Henry Kissinger. Barack is a fellow who was born in the U.S. PERIOD. Any attempt to detract from that is really an attempt to muddy the waters and sow dissent in the ranks of Obama voters.

Petre, the 14th Amendment and several subsequent Supreme Court rulings cover the case with Obama far more clearly.

It says:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

And the US Federal Law code reinforces this in Section 1401 with:

For some reason Petre is reasoning that the law as written 45 years ago when Obama was born, applys now.

Which by that logic means a women born before 1973 does not have the right to get an abortion.

Actually Petre is hung up on the law regarding citizenship via parents. Obama is really not affected by that since he was actually born on US soil.

 

By the way, if you follow Petre's logic on this and apply it to children of slaves and to their children and so on, then no descendents of slaves in the US would be citizens.

Luckily the 14th Amendment cleared that little issue up.

 

This is a simple matter of actual citizenship ... not ongoing law.

So what people here are saying .... and I'm not arguing it one way or the other , though a good case could be made in a court of law. Much stronger than that which was brought up against McCain ... that Obama is not under the law , a US citizen and the change in the law 20 years later was not retroactive.

IF that's the case ... when did Obama become a citizen and was he ever considered NATURAL BORN under the laws of the USA ?

According to the law of the time ... does anyone dispute , HE DID NOT MEET THE CRITERIA?
