I was the resident Calvin Brock fan. Anyone who's posted with me for long enough would know that. He's hardly a crap fighter, anyway.

Me too, Bay either didn't jab enough or did nothing but jab. He also had an excellent uppercut when he used it.

The Salido fight  that one pretty much did it for his prospects.

Mohamad Abdulaev Is a good choice for this thread...

There was a guy in the early 90's named Andrew Maynard... I thought (at the beginning of his carrer) he was the truth! He got to the point that he won the NABF Light heavyweight title. Then he fought Bobby Czyz...

During the fight he was getting his entire ass kicked. His eyes swole up and he was practically BEGGING his corner to stop the fight. His Trainer at the time was Pepe Correra (Sugar Ray Lenoard's trainer) He kept saying "I can't see, Pep... I can't see!!!" Correra sent him out for the 7 round anyway... BAM!!! He got knocked out. He was never the same again. I never forgave Pepe Correra for that. Not so much that he ruined the young prospects carrer... The Czyz fight proved he had no heart and was never that good anyway, but Pepe didn't listen to his fighter. I'm a moron and I could tell that guy was overmatched. His eyes were swolen shut and he wazs losing every round big. The Ref wanted to stop the fight in the corner. Pepe begged him not to and sent that guy out to get Humilliated anyway. Almost Criminal...

    Abdulaev's Apostles

    aaargh

I had a homie who was beginning to watch Boxing and one Showbox had Abdulaev-Juan Rivera. Dude throttled Rivera. We both thought he was going to be something, so whenever his fight was coming up he'd come by and watch. He continued his path of destruction with Lopez and then Holiday. but after the Clottey fight my boy didn't want to watch Boxing anymore...LOL

Why? Wasn´t it simply a matter of a language barrier? I don´t remember how the fight went till Abdullaev went down. I could understand if he quit after Cotto or Kotelnik, both losses, which don´t look that bad in retrospective.

Abdulaev was winning the fight taking every round, however in the 10th and final round he got caught with a left hook and he went down.

    Yeah, the language barrier.
Abdulaev seemed to be counting with the ref, however the ref begun his count at 6 I believe :bangh: and Abdu apparently thought he started counting with 1 :dunno::doh:

    :bangh:
