Im happy that Campbell-Guzman ended up on Showtime. Not so happy that Diaz-Katsidis is on the same night. I figured that fight was going to be on Sepember 13.
Agreed. Campbell talks too much shit for a flash in the pan who's been as inconsistent career wise as him. I think Guzman has a pretty good shot at beating him, and I hope he does. Sep 6 will be a VERY good night if Campbell, and Diaz both get beat.
How can you call Campbell flash in the pan, the man paid his dues and did it the hard way. Just cause a guy takes a couple of losses doesn't make him inconsistent. If anything he consistently brings it. Guzman is going to get a beatdown, his small ass is going to get stopped.
Guzman is way too skilled and fast for Campbell. Too bad. Would've liked to see Campbell avenge his loss to Casa instead. Either way, I can't wait to see Casa catch a beating - it's bound to happen soon. Castillo beat him up pretty bad, but I wanna see him get stopped and then see what kind of excuse he makes then. I wonder if his manager will cry bloody murder then.
Robbie Pedens a good fighter, for some reason he had Nate's number. How about all of his quality wins? The guy was learning on the job and he's become a complete fighter. I expect an apology when Campbell beats down Guzman who doesn't have anything close to the resume Campbell has. How can you call someone flash in the pan when he has the better resume and more quality wins than the guy hes fighting?
I never said Campbell will lose to Guzman, who aint exactly the most impressive fighter, but I'll be rooting for Guzman. Nate talks too much shit, and will forever be a tool for what happened in the first Pedan fight.:atu::laughing:
He has his number because Campbell decided to put his chin on a platter in their first fight.:: I don't think he's a complete fighter. He outfought and outworked Diaz for twelve rounds, that's how he beat him.
Exactly he fought a complete fight against an above average champ, hence I believe hes become a complete fighter. His jab, instincts, combos, defence, power, body shots and temperment lead me to this conclusion; What exactly can't Campbell do? maybe you'll agree with me after he beats another champion in Guzman.
I agree that Nate's a better, more well-rounded fighter today than he was when he fought Casa in '03, and perhaps even the Peden fights. But on a rare occasion, I disagree with you on the outcome of Nate-Guzman fight.
campbell was draining himself to make 130 when he lost to peden and that slick domincan dude lorenzo. he appears to be much stronger at 135. a pick'em fight especially since guzman hasn't been really tested at 135 nor has he shown any power even at 130.
Problem is Guz is a one handed fighter and he gets hit alot when guys apply pressure. I see Campbell bringing it and wearing him down. We'll see.
We have people like Joony placing him amongst the most unbeatable fighters in the sport :: So I would say yes, he is pretty overrated. And the general concensus is that he is an elite fighter. He is a good fighter, but not elite, and nate is going to prove it. Also, you know if it was 130 I would have picked Guzman, but Campbell looks like a different fighter at 135, and I think a lot of people are underestimating that. Thinking that he almost got lucky against Diaz, with one real good performance etc. I think he is just better at 135, it's a better suited weight for him.
i dont think he got lucky against diaz. diaz fights NOTHING like guzman however. two completely different fighters.
Of course, they are COMPLETELY different, I never suggested otherwise. My point was simply, Nate beat Diaz because he is a very good fighter at 135, and simply better than Diaz.
Guzman is teriffic, but I think Nate at 135 right now would be too much for him. I think Guzman is one of the most poorly moved fighters in the sport. It's a shame, because it isn't really his fault.
