Khan vs Juan Diaz is very similar on paper to Mosley vs Holiday. I'd expect a similar result, but if Khan's stamina doesn't hold out, things get bleak fast.
    .
I don't think Khan is without hope against Pacq, but I wouldn't make that fight right now, at all. Way too dangerous in more than one way.

    And I LOVE Pacquiao...

I'd pick Khan to win...I think he'd make it look easy too!

Kahn vs Hamed would've been huge in Asia.

    Arben, you can't be serious?

I've followed Khan since his amateur career, and even this soft, tame version of Pacman would fucking kill him.

Marquez isn't fast anymore, and some think Pacman lost that rematch

I just don't see it. Khan would be way too big, way too fast, and way too strong for Pacman.

How long has it been since Pacquiao has faced an opponent that had any kind of handspeed? How long has it been since Pacquiao faced anyone with movement? The first Marquez fight where he was outboxed most of the fight?

    I think Khan stops him.

Well actually I thought the rematch was closer than the first fight, I think one could argue than Juan won the rematch, however the first fight was a decisive Pacman win in my eyes. He got outboxed for a few rounds, and other than that, as basic as his attack was, he just strafed the shit out of marquez, landed the one two over and over, and just outlanded him.

When was the last time Khan faced anyone of Pacman's overall ability, experience, unpredictability, handspeed, power, strength, punch technique etc?

Never, because he hasn't fought anyone even approaching pacman's level, shit he hasn't even faced someone that's fringe world class, and now he's going to beat a pound for pounder?

He's get absolutely hammered, pacman has turned into a softy, but he would be far too much for khan at this stage. Too much of a step up for khan, and not only that, Khan is simply not that good.

I'll go on record to say, even later in Khan's career, he'll never beat anyone who's considered a pound for pounder. He's quite simply not that good.

He'll win a paper title, and that's it, he'll never be the best in his weight class.

Khan's defense isn't that good and his chin is absolutely garbage. SO, the only way he beats Pacquiao is by knocking him out early IMO. Pac is very beatable at 135, but not by Khan.

Agreed. Pacman is going to lose at 135, sooner rather than later, but not to Khan. Khan would get brutally stopped.

    Awww, man...

In the absence of all bar Arben, I'll stick up for Amir a little.

This fight is way too early. Anything like this fight is way too early. Kudos for Khan at aiming high, but he isn't ready, and he isn't up to this yet.

For all of that, he's becoming very underrated and very needlessly discredited. I'll grant that he hasn't done much, and that his left hand is held too low and that he is definitely chinny. But you guys are acting like his is and will always be a bum. He's only 21, for Christ's sake!

Amir is far too inexperienced to fight Pac or Diaz, but as long as he keeps that left hand up, he'll be ready in eighteen months I'd reckon.

No-one has been more critical that I have of his progress to date. I HATE Werren, and am a natural skeptic of any guy he promotes, but Amir is THE guy he has in the locker who really can improve and step up.

    In fact...

    ...fuck it...

The difference is that it will take Diaz about 3 or 4 rounds longer than it will Manny to take Khan out........Pacquaio-Khan would not last 5 minutes

Khan-Pac would be huge in Britain. Pretty sure they could hold it in Bolton and have a good 35,000 there. Be a nice easy pay day for Pac and would set up the Hatton fight very nicely for him.

btw, i just took a look at the fightnews rankings, which are usually a pretty good independent guide.....They have Khan as #5 at lightweight, above Joan Guzman and Julio Diaz amongst others.....what has Khan done to deserve that? granted Guzman is just coming into the weight but his achievements at the lower weights surely merit being placed ahead of Khan whose win over Graham Earl remains his best.

Khan has undoubted talent, but he needs to earn his shot....not just in the name of fairness or anything, we all know that isn't how this sport works....but for his own good....he's not ready for the level of competition he is talking about......Michael Gomez is shot to bits and 5 years ago might have been at the level that Khan should be at now.....

i look down those ratings.....Romanov, Jesus Chavez, Kid Diamond....he should be proving himself, for his own sake, against one of these tough gatekeepers first.....

 I didnae say it was a good idea for Khan/Warren, did I? But assuming they're stupid enough to do it Im just saying it might be a good move for Pac.

Arben is a knowledgeable guy, but assuredly pickinh Khan over pacman is one of the "wrongest" things in the history of this forum :kidcool:

I have just about managed to overcome my lucid hated of ITV and Werren to acknowledge that Khan is pretty decent.

In spite of that, Pac would rip his head off if they fought anytime soon. Khan's single major weakness is his chin, and that is NOT the weakness you want to take into a fight with (even this, disinterested version) of Manny.
