Cotto is a beast. He will make hamburger of Margarito's midsection.

Floyd wants nothing to do with Cotto. He will come out of retirement for one fight and that is a rematch with DLH. We can all debate the outcome, but Floyd/Cotto isn't happening.

As of today, June 28, 2008 Miguel Cotto is still ten pounds above the limit of his divsion. When those photos were taken he was weighting the same as a supermiddleweight. No wonder he looked big. By the day of the weight-in expect a skinnier version.

Regardless of how much you feel Cotto weighted at the time of the fotos a few things here are sure.

    1. He's going to beat Margarito from pillar to post.
    2. He hasnt looked this defined and cut in any pre fight photos in his career.

Please explain how Cotto is a cheating fuck? If he makes 147 how is that cheating? I'm pretty sure Margarito blows up much higher than Cotto between fights.:nono:

This really is a special fight. And it's extremely important for Cotto. I think if he wins impressively, he catapults himself into another stratosphere. I have a good feeling he's got the perfect gameplan to dismantle Margarito. But can he do it? His will, heart and hunger will be matched by someone who may possess even more of those three.

Another thing I wanted to add is that Miguel Cotto is slowly creeping up the pound for pound charts.

How far up does he go with a win? Can he make a case for #1? By the end of the year, I believe he can.

FYI - I by no means am handing him a win over Margarito. I lean towards the Puerto Rican slightly...ever so slightly.

I can't wait for this fight... One of the best, if not the best, match up of the year so far. Very intringuing. I hope Cotto wins, but I don't think it's garanteed. Margarito is tough as nails and can punch, he's a pretty big welter too, Cotto will be tested big time. Margarito is the toughest opponent he has faced IMO.

If Cotto fights like a man and wins, then he deserves all the credit you can possibly give him,.. but if he runs like a bitch, aka,.. the end of the Mosely fight,... that should once and for all put a stop to this "bulldozer" label undeservedly affiliated to Cotto by his groupies who refuse to accept that thier term "cruising"...is fucken RUNNING, ofcourse.

If Cotto runs to a win he definitely deserves flack. But he wont run. They'll be no need for it. He'll land on Marg at will, to the head and body. I really dont see Tony lasting the distance. He has a sturdy chin of course, but Cintron is a bigger one punch power puncher than Cotto, but Marg has never been hit as cleanly, accurately, and consistently as Cotto will hit him.

This fight has Trinidad-Mayorga written all over it. Only Tony will be more competitve than Mayo was with Tito, and probably wont go down. But he'll still take a sustained beating ala Mayorga, as Cotto lights him up with combinations.

Considering the kind've opponents that have both gone the distance and had Cotto backpedling, guarantees that Toney goes the distance, and has Cotto sprinting by the later rounds.

It's going to be enjoyable watching the "BULLDOZER" reeling in reverse once again, if it's a raw slug out, Cotto will lose :crafty:.

Where was Marge's heart and hunger in his fight with Williams? The guy was outright discouraged by Williams workrate and aggression, and only started to fight late on, when he realised things were getting desperate.

In fact, I can't think of any fights at all where Marge has displayed this now infamous heart, guts and determination.

I think he is a bit like Baby Cow in that respect, his style and aura would indicate someone gutsy and determined, but when it comes down to it, neither of them have anything more than average heart and determination.

They are both tough though, and can take a punch.

Where was Margarito's heart and hunger against Williams? I coulda sworn he closed the stronger fighter. Of course, if you only give him three rounds, it's kinda hard to be objective.

And if you can't think of any fights where he showed those three attribute then you've probably seen very little of Antonio Margarito. Those attributes have defined his career. Unless of course, you believe he remained undefeated at 147 over a ten year period with amazing skill ;).

If Cotto cant stop Margarito it will be foolish for him to trade punches for 12 rounds. I think Cotto will box him the second half of the fight if he cant hurt him.

IMO Cotto will box/counter early....break Margarito down a bit..then go for the KO..or trade with him in the later rounds..7up...

Well yes he does deserve credit,.. his defence as far as I can see isn't in anyway completely illegal like Fraud's, Cotto by decision is the smartest bet,.. but what I'm addressing, is to all those who claim Cotto is this monster who steam rolls his way over the top of opponents, and will outslug and crush Margarito in a trade off, groupies and Margarito haters will say this, but Cotto :crafty: knows better than that Im sure...

I wonder where are all of those people that laughed at Karl Hegman when he said Cotto was a middleweight. Now you have the proof. 160lbs Cotto

Nobody fights at their walking around weight. To say Cotto is a MW is as stupid today as it was when Karl said it.

But Cotto is all muscle at 160lbs. Tito at 160lbs was very flabby. Tito was 154lbs at fighting weight

Cotto is 157 1 month prior to the fight, how much more than that do you think he'll weigh on fight night?

I've seen a lot of margarito's fights, since, I can't remember when, but before the first Santos fight.

So again, in which fights did he show huge guts, heart and determination? And the williams fight no. Starting to fight late after doing not much for the first 8 rounds doesn't really show a huge amount of guts.

It's not like he came out guns blazing either, and tried to take williams out.

He's been a successful welterweight due to size, workrate and toughness. Not skill no, but also not guts/determination etc.

well I'd say margarito showed guts/determination in the first fight against perez, the rematch with santos and the clottey fight.

not sure what criteria you in particular use to differentiate toughness from guts/determination.
