First off, dont assume to put words in my mouth. I wouldnt pick Manny at all over Chico, or Castillo at 135. But none of the current guys are on that level. Marquez beat Manny twice my ass! Pac has bounced Marquez off the canvas so many times in thier two fights, JM must think its a second home. And who exactly has proven themselves to be far and away the best at 135? Manny IMO will beat everyone at 135 because he's the most talented, and simply the best of the crop. His biggest threat stylewise is Guzman. Marquez will always come up barely short against Manny.
I'm a little surprised at the reaction as well. Frankly, it seemed a bit like the congregated media in Las Vegas decided beforehand that if Pacquaio won by impressive KO they were all going to annoint him as Mayweather's replacement. He's an easy fighter to root for and he has a great entertaining style. But Diaz's lack of speed and ability - including a quality jab - and his availability to be hit just didn't figure to be much of a problem for Pacquiao. Pacquiao is still not a "complete" fighter.
Everyone at 135 is better than David Diaz that is a fact if you actually watch those fighters. I called the pacquiao/Diaz a gimme fight because it was and last Saturday it was proven that it was all along. so let's not pretend Manny beat some great fighter even though there was a crappy belt on the line. The fact that he will likely follow this gimme fight with another gimme fight in Valero or Soto is fucking funny to me.[ if that impresses you that go ahead and enjoy it. I rather see Manny in the ring with someone that can challenge him not just be heavier than him. JMM will only come up short because the judges will favor the more popular Pacquiao. That is a fact! Pacquiao didn't even think he won that rematch the way he reacted. :atu: I knew the Diaz fight would overrate him again and would make him look like the killer at 135. I guess if and when he fights JMM again and squeeks by a decision people will go back to say he los his passion for the sport. ::
exactly! all people have to do is compare the fight in March with JMM and the one with Diaz las Saturday. because he squeeked by with a close decision against JMM people made up a bullshit excuse that manny had lost his passion hell some even said he should retire. :: now that he blows Diaz out the water all of a sudden Manny will run throught the whole divison with ease :: I like Manny but god damn people overrate him. I say JMM beats him again. And Guzman takes him to school.
