Roy Jones/Square Ring looking to become more of a promoter

    The promotional company recently hired John Wirt as it's CEO, signed Owen Beck, and is currently looking to sign Dmitriy Salita according to Dan Rafael.

    Salita's first fight would come on the undercard of Jones-Calzaghe.

    You'd question the signing of Salita before the signing of BECK? At least Salita had some buzz about him at some point in his career. Beck is a never-was as far as prospects go.

    This is the same company that had Derrick Gainer as its second prize behind Jones himself :crying: and Winky Wright absolutely BOLTED the second he started to get serious credit. I wonder what the take is for Jones Jr. compared to anyone else; I doubt he'd even bother to associate his name if it didn't make some money for him...

    Square Ring used to co-promote Andre Ward...I'm not sure if they still do.

    Salita's a decent fighter to have in a stable, he has a decent following in New York.
