My only question is why for either fight? I didn't see Tito lose to Roy but my guess is he doesn't have much less but then again does Oscar? Also are these 2 even near the same weight class? Oscar is usually at the 154 area and Tito just fought at ltHW.

As for Shane, I know he doesn't have many options at welterweight but I still can't believe he's about to fight Mayorga whom I still doubt can get anywhere near 147. Plus Mayorga like Tito hasn't won a fight or looked good in years. It's like the Judah disease that a loser like Mayorga keeps getting these big matches just because he once peaked for a day and beat Forrest.

By the way here's my source:http://www.doghouseboxing.com/benz/DHBenz070408.htm

I love the idea of Oscar/Tito II. Let them have their fight. I don't want to watch Oscar hold up a competitive division.

Tito destroys Hoya. Then he Destroys Mosley. He then destroys Pavlik. and as a final victory party he rematches with Roy and destroys him too. I've seen the future!!!

I agree, that's the best part about the fight is that two oldies are fighting each other rather than forcing us to have to watch Oscar fight someone like Floyd or Cotto, 2 guys who are/were actually relevant.

Yeah, but the fighter who would benefit most from any of these proposed fights would be Cotto...who is also the youngest and most relevent.

Why DLH-Tito: it's allegedly a swan-song fight for DLH, and it's on the standard schedule that Titio has had for the past 4 years. No harm done in any way.

Why Mosley-Mayorga: Mayorga beat Vargas (as irrelevant as that may ultimately be, it's a common link on the timescale when we talk about any recent success for both guys). Mosley was doing...what exactly? The judah fight fell through. He's not exactly in the business to climb back to the top; it's random names or nothing at all since he lost to Cotto (that was his last true shot to be considered a fighter who could call his own shots). It's a stay busy fight at best, and it's with a talker who could get an extra PPV buy or two with his mouth alone.
Yes, I'm really stretching on that fight because I think it's ultimately useless :stir:

I'm glad Delahoya and Trinadad are finally gonna go ahead and fight again. Its been long overdue. It'll probably be at 160 or something.

    Awesome fights!

    I can't wait to see DLH-Tito and Shane-Mayo..

Shane should give Mayo a real beating.. and we know that Mayo will talk mad trash leading up to it so that should make it fun!

But.. I do wanna see DLH-Cotto so hopefully we can still see that too!:hammert:

This fight makes alot more sense to end DLH's career. I had a hard time envisioning him ending his career by taking a horrific beating from Cotto. The only thing that could ruin DLH-Tito II is if that porker Tito cant get down to a catch weight.

    I agree.

De La Hoya didn't want to face a fighter like Cotto to end his career. He didn't want to fight a body puncher like that given the way Hopkins destroyed his liver with that left hook.

This is cool. Two guys that are past their primes but still big enough names to generate a serious income out of this.

Fight will probably be at about 165 pounds. Oscar better do some steroids because he weighed in at 160 against Sturm and we all know how he looked and how he fought. Not that Tito has much left, but at least we'll be guaranteed some fireworks in this one.

I knew Oscar would never fight Cotto.
