I think this will be fireworks early, maybe a knockdown or two. Holt can´t snooze his way to the title or he´ll be send back to Colombia with or without a belt. But Showtime better watch their mouth or civil rights activist Floyd Mayweather will be on their heels.

    It's a HBO-Showtime triple-header tonight with Pacquiao-Diaz leading it off at 10.

This is an embarrassing fight to have on Showtime. It deserves to be a missable Wed night espn2 undercard fight.

    It certainly shouldn't be competitive.

Since it's on a Shobox undercard it's not quite as bad as if it was on Championship Boxing.

I forgot this is a shobox special, but even so...shobox is (supposed to be) about matching up prospects in competitive fights. There is nothing about Peterson/Castaneda that is competitive. Yeah, showtime gets a pass because the main event is such a good fight to be showing, but they risk hurting it by putting everyone to sleep with this opener.

I rarely complain about a fight being televised. I just wish that if we had to suffer through another Lamont decision win, he'd be in there against a pulse.

R1-10 Lamont Peterson is too quick and accurate. Castaneda isn't very good.
Peterson wins a workmanlike, boring decision.

Peterson really hurt him in the middle of the round. Then he backs off. Shithead, I'd rather be wrong than see 2.5 more rounds of this.

Lamont is a good fighter. 140 aint the most talented division in boxing. Hatton will gone within a year, it'll be a wide open division and Peterson will have a good chance vs anybody.

Hopkins just signed with Top Rank, so them matching their own is unlikely, but I could see them making the Castillo fight if Castillo can actually make 140.
