Take a look around - only the staunchest Jones supporters are saying he'll win. Seriously, if he loses...who cares? Will anyone be shocked? I mean, is it worth calling out those who think he'll win like we're talking about some pick 'em bout? And how stupid will YOU look if (surprise!) he wins?

There are a half dozen people on this site who've claimed Roy will win.

Given we have maybe 15-20 active members thats much more sizable than 1% brother kenneth.

We can work on the details of any kind of terms, but I'll give 3-1 on sigtime/money bets.

I'll tell ya what - truthfully, I'm scared to bet. Not cuz I think he's gonna lose. But because I think I'm gonna jinx it.

For example, I'm a huge Giants (football fan). Bet on games throughout the year (friendly bets, money, etc.). Once we hit the playoffs, I didn't make one bet and we went all the way through. I attribute our success to my humility (how's that for irony?). So I don't wanna jinx my boy Roy either!

In any case, let's see how the fight plays out. I highly doubt you thought Toney would lay on the ropes against Jirov all night and have him out on his feet in the waning seconds of the fight.

This doesn't make any sense. You bring up a point that I was wrong about, but it's completely unrelated. Of course we are all wrong here and there, how is that relevant now?

It just seems like a very odd comparison, Roy/Toney and Calzaghe/Jirov are completely different, no stylistic similiarities, what compelled you to make the comparison?

In all seriousness Mex, because I believe the fight will play out just like Jirov-Toney did.

As far as styles, like Jirov, Calzaghe will come forward, throw a lot of punches and attempt to impose his will on the supposedly weaker man.

Jones will gladly play the role of weaker man by laying on the ropes, where he won't have to use his shot legs. The ruling school of thought is that if Jones does this, he gets battered. I think the exact opposite.
