This 'Little bitch" has pulled your card about 20 times on Calzaghe-Jones. You keep running your mouth about how Jones is going to do this and do that. "Crapzagga" is going to get dropped and smashed, he only slaps, and all this other horsehit. I say let's put $1,000 each on it right now. We'll let Jake hold the money.

You won't step up because you're all talk and you know Jones is going to get retired for good that night. You're wrong about everything and you're wrong about Calzaghe too. :kick:

Cotto by very close decision - likely an MD/SD type of affair.

It's going to be close; especially late as Margarito goes for broke.

Cotto has improved in stamina, chin, and strength and I expect his firepower to have an effect on Margarito, but ultimately Antonio has the better stamina and the stronger surge in the late rounds, and that's when it's going to get interesting quickly. He KNOWS how to impose his physicality, and is about the only WWT I can think of who could actually do that better than Cotto can.

He's also going to try to go to Cotto's body to discourage him from his own body attack.

It's a fascinating fight with many angles. Margarito is very basic, but don't underrate his ability to fight inside and dig short and parry shots.

It's funny, because I expected the thread to be opposite - to me, "logic" says that Margarito ultimately imposes his size, workrate, strength and stamina and finally gets to Cotto late.

But I expect Cotto's boxing skills, underrated defense and movement, and strong shots to get him by in a squeaker.

And YES - he CAN win rounds off the back foot, and will. I don't see why people think he can't...he's won plenty over his career. The fact that a fighter is moving laterally or backwards doesn't automatically discount him from winning the round. It's about who lands more and cleaner.

Margarito isn't a buzz-saw, though. When he's facing firepower, he will cover up and often wait out the storm. He attacks without abandon only when he's sure there is no threat or the opponent is ready to go.

Cotto in one of those decisions that will be debated.

    Peace.

Neil gave me a call yesterday and asked what I bet. He was looking to bet it to. I had 5k on Margarito. I added another 500 today and bet enough to win 1k that Cotto wouldn't win a dec. So I made something over 12k.

:boohoo: Reed please,.. I've said it 3 consecutive times, Margarito will WIN the fight legitimately by sweeping the later rounds, and be robbed on the scorecards, as it turns out,........

    I was wrong :crafty:.
