if they ever fought. I know most won't agree with me but it is my belief he would eventually stop him if they ever fought. First thing people will try to combat my prediction with is how strong Antonio's chin is and how lightly Floyd punches and then they will proceed and try to tell me the big punchers that couldn't dent Antonio's chin. But it is a known fact that the punches that truly hurt a fighter with are usually the ones they never see coming and it is my belief that Antonio wouldn't see a high number of punches coming from Floyd but it would still take a few in order to do it. I'm sure not many expected Floyd to KO Hatton either because of Floyd's recent decision wins.

I think it would happen late in the fight after Antonio has trouble seeing from the puffiness around both eyes. My guess is Floyd would stop him between the 9-11th rounds with at least one knockdown before the ref calls a halt to it.

P.S. Before someone calls me a Floyd lover or an Antonio hater for the record, I HATE FLOYD and actually like Margarito and "YES" Floyd ducked Antonio for some reason for many a year. This fight will probably never take place I know but I hope Floyd decides he wants to become an all time great and fighting Antonio would be a great step in becoming just that.

Margarito is much bigger then Hatton and not nearly as sloppy. Floyd probably beats him but I don't think it's anywhere near KO territory.

Floyd had trouble with Castillo who is closer in style to Margarito then Hatton is.

I don't agree wit the thread. There is no way PBF will stop Margarito. However no one thought that PBF would put Corrales down as many times as he did. Quick question prior to the PBF how many times did Corrales hit the text. I'll Holla 5000

Corrales had never been dropped. However there is a slight difference which is about 17 pounds. Floyd wouldn't even try to stop Margraito he would fight the smartest fight possible. Hell he couldn't even stop Baldomir fighting that way.

I would pick Mayweather on points in an ugly affair.

And it wouldn't be easy for PBF.

I agree that money would def have to be on his "A" to win this fight. However just like in the Corrales fight he will have to pick and choose when to sit down and stay in the pocket. Now I'm not saying that he would knock him down 5 times like he did Corrales but being hit by fast punches like u don't see r the ones that get u. Can 1 say that Money softened up Corrales' chin wit the 5 knockdowns? I'll Holla 5000

Fraud's fear is so intense that he cannot bring himself to get anywhere near the negotiation table, he wont even entertain the idea, no matter how much money is involved, so if this fantasy were to be more realistic, he would have to be dragged into the ring kicking and screaming, his mentallity is not there to fight Margarito,...Fraud is terrified, he wants to escape, he rolls under the ring ropes, and runs back up the isle-way :dunno:.. I mean based on the evidence we have, that is as accurate a hypothetical as it currently gets.

Corrales hadn't really fought any big punchers before he fought Floyd. Most of the better punchers he went against were after he fought Floyd.

floyd would beat margarito boxing the same way he did corrales...not in relation to the knockdowns or stoppage but his fight strategy.

Floyd wouldn't dare get in the ring with Margarito let alone stop him.

Let's keep threads about retired boxers in mythical matchups.

Maybe, I am not arguing if Floyd would win or not. I think he would win but he's not winning by any kind of stoppage. I don't even think he would try. he would fight a stinker and win that way.

 Mayweather might be able to outbox Mayweather....KO..:notallthere:

even if Mayweather is able to hurt/stun/wobble Margarito he would have to follow it up with more punches..he won't do that...

I'm pissed and sad that Cotto lose :crying::crying: .....however Margarito vs. Mayweather would be GREAT IF it happens...a guy that throws thousand punches in the gym...against a guy who throws a thousand punches when it COUNTS.....

Cotto was outboxing Margarito early...and even if Margarito didn't show it those punches from Cotto were making him think defense..defense..don't get hit with stupid punches.....BUT AGAINST MAYWEATHER...there is nothing that will making him think twice about attacking...

and in THE fight Mayweather will have to look EXTRA GREAT...he will have to move...outbox the hell out of Margarito and make him look very ordinary..stupid..out of his league..Mayweather will have to make it seem like he completely owning Margarito...MARGARITO WILL BE THROWING a 100 punches...making Mayweather work-rate look indigent in comparison......judges would give those rounds to Margarito....this is not hug and tug lil Ricky Hatton.....Margarito can't cut the ring for shit though....tough fight for Mayweather...

I don't know about stopping him but he would beat convincingly. Too skilled. Plus, nobody that loses to Paul Williams goes life and death with Clottey, and struggles with Santos, beats Floyd Mayweather.

WTF, fight were you watching. Margarito started the first round slow and walked, no, jogged Cotto down. He walked through Cotto like he was Corey Spinks. LOL, Margarito walked him down in fact he ran him down.

Ridiculous thread. Mayweather wouldn't stop Margarito if they fought 2000 times. I feel pbf would beat him though.

I agree with this assessment. Did you guys watched how at the end of round five Cotto made Margarito look like an amateur by sliping a barrage of punches just with head movements? Floyd is a better boxer than Cotto or Williams. He can outpoint Margarito easily, but will never stop him.

Floyd couldn't stop Baldomir and didn't even try. No way he tries to stop Margarito.

He will win a boring UD and Merchant can make him cry again.

The amount of times Floyd would mention, blood, sweat and tears and that it would be a war: about a thousand.

The amount of times Floyd would stay in the pocket against Margarito: ZERO!

Since when is a guy obligated to fight his opponents fight? You do what's necessary to win as long as it's within the rules.

    you are right

Hatton people said Floyd couldnt hit and he got stopped..

Floyd buckled DLH's knees and IMO could have stopped him if he stepped it up
    he DESTROYED Gatti...
