I'm pretty sure this was before GBP had any affiliation with the Ring. I don't think he was ever ranked #1 though anyway

Well, the point is, wherever he was ranked it was based on his win over Mayorga (and past accomplishments/name).

I think you're right about Spinks. Brother Reed's on some Bob Arum sh*t right now lol.

Sadly, I'm still not sure who's the best junior middle.

He's the #1 welterweight according to the MySpace rankings.

An unsurprising reaction from Bob Arum to Dan Goossen's $4 million 50/50 offer:

It's unfortunate Arum is using the excuse of Pavlik's last fight negotiatios to dismiss a Williams rematch.

Margarito's been one of the most willing fighters in recent years, it's a shame Arum will likely tarnish that reputation by avoiding a rematch.

After the PWill-Tony fight last year, Arum remained stuck on the "business transaction w/ gloves on" rhetoric when approached w/ media inquiries of a Cotto-Williams fight.

Now it's Al Haym... excuse me, "Machiavelli's" fault.

The sad thing is, the media will give Arum and Margarito (though Arum deserves the lion's share of the blame) a pass for the next year or so, playing the lets-see-how-it-plays-out card before finally coming around. By then, given the laws of nature, one of the two will have lost a fight, and it's on to the next order of business.

    Agreed.

I don't think Margarito rematches Williams before he rematches Cotto, maybe both Clottey and Cotto.

Barely. He's really nothing to brag about. I doubt he could beat Zab Judah at this point.
Actually, he's best known for making Margarito look like shit before he injured his hand. This is the reason I'm looking forward to this fight. I predict Clottey will beat Margarito provided he doesn't get robbed.

I thought Clottey didn't look as good as usual but I didn't think he was unimpressive. I think the style had more to do with than anything and if you had the rds even that's on you, but like I said a Clottey fight will always have a contriversial score because some people think he's being hit when he's in his defensive stance and others don't. Still Clottey fucked Zab's face up and I remember one great shot he landed to Zab's ribs that you knew Zab felt as it made him step back.

You guess you're not a Clottey fan? Putting him behind Berto and Cintron? You're fucking right you're not a Clottey fan, try a Clottey hater. There is no chance either Berto or Cintron last 12 rds against no Clottey. I can't wait til the rematch, and people will finally realize Clottey is the goods when he beats Margarito. That is if they don't start with the "well Margarito was overrated all along, he just had the style to beat Cotto" talk. And yes, I prefer Clottey to get the rematch before Williams.
