Well, . I guess. You watch the fights and even though you are a nuthugger you don't strike me as a guy who would stop posting if your favorite guy lost. Look at Illuminati. EVERYTIME, a Rican falls, his posting is cut by 90%.
Yes, that's what has slowed my burlying, when Margarito slaughtered Cotto,.. all the prey either died or scattered, suckling from Margarito's teat can only nutrify one for so long, and now there is nothing left on the landscape to eat,..In the cycle of life, predators can't live without any prey,.. and Cotto-groupies used to slide down the gullet nicely, whereas Fraud groupies are nowhere near the treat, and you end up nibbling too much of your own flesh in anger anyway.
Max sucks. I am still banned until 2020 or something::::Nothing was like a prime BT. We had a bunch or lunatics. I wish I could still read the posts there. This place is only tolerable because of the BT people who continue to post.
I think S/O circa 2000-2001 was the best ever. But this forum circa 2003-2004 was awesome! Its a shell of its former self now. I honesly think this forum started its slow decline after Roy lost. Roy sparked SOOO much discussion, and debate on this forum thats its not even funny. But at least it caused more people posting.
I think most boxing sites like BT, Boxing.com, SecondsOut etc all had their heyday a few years ago because boxing was great and the interweb was still relatively new. http://web.archive.org/web/20040821015539/http://www.boxingtime.com/forum/ http://web.archive.org/web/20050207231950/http://www.boxingtime.com/forum/
I must say, Eastside is more tolerable nowadays than years past, cause it used to be one racist ass forum and that was a turn off. Now, theres more diversity on there. I tried giving the boxingscene forum a chance, but theres too many immature, and ignorant posters on there that seem pretty new to the sport.
How about the Tito vs Hopkins buildup? http://web.archive.org/web/20020420180137/www.secondsout.com/soforum/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000112.html And the crow thread started by Bigdawg from 2001? http://web.archive.org/web/20011006014941/www.secondsout.com/soforum/ubb/Forum1/HTML/007009.html ::
I've given countless ideas on how to liven this place up, but they always fall on deaf ears. But the forum as a whole needs a makeover. Merge Boxing Videos and Boxing Video Streams. Get rid of Irish Boxing and Training and Conditioning. And most importantly take MMA out of 'Misc' and put it right up with 'General Discussion'. And like I've said before, as gay as it sounds, make a Fightbeat Myspace page and become friends with every boxer and MMA fighter that has a page. TFK
Ever since I stopped photoshopping motherf*ckers on here, things've been stale. I remember when I did my very first photoshop on BT in '04, it got such a response, it was like an event and everybody was talking. Too bad I got suspended a few times otherwise I'd have kept this sh*t up! I sure pissed off a lot of folk!
I'm not just gonna create anything for this site without consent from the PTB here. I'm not in charge. I don't run the site. Hell, I'm not even a moderator, I'm just a regular poster like everyone else. If I had Cupey's blessing, or whoever is in charge's blessing, maybe I'd throw something together, but I'm not gonna create something and put this site's name on it without consent from the site. TFK
Half the Tito fans?? Dude...something like 96% of the Titoheads disappeared after the Hopkins fight. ::
I think part of it is that the current boxing "stars" aren't quite as compelling as the ones who have recently retired )or should be). When I first started posting on SecondsOut (and Fightbeat a few years later), we were talking about Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Trinidad, DLH, RJJ, Morales, Barrera, Hamed, Hopkins, Toney, Vargas, Mosley, Mayorga, Tsyzu, Judah and others. Some great fighters, some less than that...but nearly all had rabid fans and/or rabid haters...which makes for long and heated discussion of these fighters. Now, the "stars" are Klitschko, Mayweather, Cotto, Pacquaio, Margarito, Pavlik, Hatton & Calzaghe. And some ready to retire folks like RJJ, Hopkins, Mosley, DLH. I just don't see these fighters having the same level of love or hate that the big fighters from the beginning of the decade did. it doesn't mean that they are not good fighters...but they don't seem to have the same "heat" that the other fighters did. Plus...the current crop of posters doesn't seem as interested in fighters from previous decades...unless it is to put them down or claim they are overrated. I remember having discussions that went on for days (and sometimes weeks) about topics like whether Whitaker-Chavez was a fair decision or if the Chavez-Taylor stoppage was legit or a bad call. Or how good Salvador Sanchez really was. There just doesn't seem to the the same passion for the fighters and fights that there was during the beginning of the decade. I remember a time when any comment made that wasn't praising Tyson (or WAS praising Lewis) would result in a flurry of posts from Tyson fans who were outraged that someone wasn't kissing Mikey's butt. :: Whenever a Tyson topic (or a pro-Lewis one) would come up...you could count down from 10 and Esk would appear...even tho' we might not have seen him for months...and then the fun would start. :: I think we need more of that...and I don't know if the issue is the fighters, the fights or the posters...or maybe all of them.
The idea that the lack of action on these boards is related to the sport dying is ludicrous to the point of hilarity. Go on the boxingscene forums, the boxrec forums, eastside boxing, hell even newer sights like f-i-g-h-t-h-y-p-e. There message boards are thriving. Fightbeat is what it will always be and unless the site reaches out to try and grab new people (ie, the homepage), it will remain this way or get worse. That's just how it goes.
This site is basically a private forum. There are hardly any new people. If oyu want a fast forum go to boxingscene. You will be back here in 2 minutes. Regular posters just need to post more.
Yeah your right! But them were the good old day's. Even until this day there is a dilusional Tito fan every once and a while like myself and Cupey::
Actually, I post on boxingscene quite often. I post anywhere that's thriving - I enjoy posting on various sites. I like fightbeat because the posters here are far and away the most knowledgable and I recognize some of them from the secondsout boards, the old CNNSI boards and even the HBO boards. But it is what it is. Most of the topics have been beaten to death and new ones rarely pop up. Still, when it's good here it gets no better.
agREED... The Sport of Boxing is FINE...& Sure, the Homepage Needs Help, but it's Waaaaaaaaay Toooooooo EASY to Blame Cupey (Not Saying YOU Do)...Cupey Can Only Fill the Homepage w/Content that's PRESENTED to Him...WHENEVER REED Submits Something, Cupey Puts it Up... The ISSUE is, there's LESS than 5 Guys who REGULARLY Contribute Articles... REED Also agrees w/JOE NAMATH's Point about the Current Crop of Fighters NOT Registering as High on a "Love-Hate" Scale...But Give it Time...REED STILL Thinks Kelly Pavlik is Gonna B a HUGE Star & BEATING Hopkins would Go a Looooooooong Ways Towards Helping him Achieve that... Cotto's COMEBACK will B a Topic of Discussion...Margarita's NEXT Move, Likewise...If Manny Pac Ends Up Fighting Ricky Hatton, that would B a HUGE Fight for All Messageboards...Both of them have LARGE Fanbases... & Honestly, if Guys Gave Olympic Boxing an HONEST Look, they'd Discover a GOOD Amount of NEW Talent that we'll ALL B Discussing N the Next Few Years... The Bottom Line is, Instead of Sitting Around WAITING to B Entertained or WAITING for a Good Topic to Pop Up, Entertain YOURSELF by STARTING a Good Topic... What's the Quote from Field of Dreams???..."If U Build it, they WILL Come":dunno:...Well, if U START the Right Topic or Right AMOUNTS of Topics, People WILL Post... REED:mj:
The classic forum is for actual real discussion about boxing, and learning more about the history of the sport. The general forum is just to troll and make people mad and make the day go faster. Boxingscene posters are in large part, idiots. More racism there than on ESB.
hahahah i cnat post this on the board.but Ill try to post it here. I told all of you tito packs his gloves hahahah were was the power!!!!???? huh!!!! were was teh power no plaster=no power hahahahah titot is a big cheat i told all of you who callled me stupid for saying tito packed his gloves next time you will hear me out unsted of saying qwerty your stupid qwerty your dumb...hahahaha tito a big cheat...were was teh power......hahahahah told you....
:dunno: After Cotto vs. Margarito what is there? I was here for Judah vs. Clottey..after that..? we have 30+ days of darkness till Mosley vs. Mayorga, Diaz vs. Katsidis... I missed the WNF that i wanted to watch... I don't give a fuck about no fucking olympic fighters till they turn pro..and apparently one of the best prospect for a medal is a big ear 100 pounder.. Nothing to talk about really...what is Pacquiao going to do next? Who is he going to fight? Another chump? Since the real threats at 135 are fighting each other... Cotto and Margarito are taking a break...probably both are looking for easy fights... Williams doesn't know what the fuck he wants to do...Winky, Pavlik, fuck that shit.... DLH vs. MORA....?:crying: Marquez vs. Casamayor PPV??? FUCK THAT...:nono: Pavlik is one of the best thing going for boxing TODAY...and he is going to step in the ring with a stinker that makes everyone he fight look bad...
All of this is true. What happens. When boxing is slow do you suddenly degrease to a normal weight and get yourself devirginized. I am going ahead and answer in the negative on count 1 and count 2.
