Calzaghe - In the Kessler fight. I always had my doubts if he was the goods until this fight. Whether everyone else on his record was easy pickings or not, he showed the kind of skill and toughness in the Kessler fight to convince me of a career that should be respected.

Cotto - In the Mosley fight. Never knew how good he was til this fight. He showed the kind of boxing skills I never knew he had. His countering was outstanding but the thing that impressed me the most was his ability to throw without an kind of telegraphing and creating such deceptive speed. His shot placement was also outstanding. He may lack the best durability and stamina but everything else about him impressed me that night.

Okay, in other words, one of their wins really impressed you more than any of there other wins did. Maybe that one impressive win showed you something in that fighter that you didn't realize was there before. Such as the 2 examples I gave. Anymore questions?

    Floyd over Corrales!

I remember that fight was a pick'em for a lot of experts and fans. I honestly did not follow either guy that much at the time. But I knew they were the best at 130 at the time.

I expected a close tough decision for either guy. I never though Floyd was going to dominate him like that.

After that fight I started paying attention to Floyd's carreer.

    some great ones already listed

The Floyd-Corallas fight was awesome.. I remember some dudes I hung with saying that they would bet ANYTHING on Diego.. saying "NO WAY FLOYD will last the distance" actually same with the FLoyd-Gatti fight.. some said Gatti was too big!

I'll also second the Cotto-Shane fight.. That is the single fight that really made me start recognizing Cotto.. that was impressive

also.. you gotta give it to Zelijin macrovsion for dam near KILLING Lennox lewis at a time when Manny said "no one can last 8 rounds with Lennox" poor Mohawk was almost on his death bed and somehow got the strength to not only go 12 but win some rounds as well!

Gotta agree with Calzaghe in the Kessler. I thought Kessler was going to KO him in the early rounds just Joe just kept on going after him.

Katisdis impresses me in his "I'm going to beat your fist up with my head style"

Chavez I thought was very impressive against Rosario. It's remembered as a great fight but throughout it there was never any doubt in my mind that Chavez would win it. And he managed to beat the hell out of Rosario despite Rosario's vaunting punching power.

Nate Campbell vs Juan Diaz. Nate was very impressive that night. He showed more determination than he ever has.

Margarito vs Cotto, the way he just walked Cotto down and took everything Cotto had to offer and just kept on coming. Very impressive showing of heart and determination.

Corrales in the first Castillo fight. Chico was DONE, or so I thought only to come back and knock Castillo stupid in the very same round.

Pavlik vs Taylor 1. For Pavlik to come back from round two and knock Jermain out was pretty impressive. I was already a fan following the Miranda destruction but then he goes and KO's a much better guy in Jermain.
