Wait.... So he spoke out and said that it was manipulated, and then hours later he gets suspended and blamed for manipulating them?

Yeah, that caught my attention as well.

It only describes it as a "possible attempt" and says it happened "two months priorto the start of the Olympic boxing events".

So, who knows what information was obtained.

Yeah that doesn't quite add up unless he was already under suspicion, knew the ax was falling and made the comments to make it appear that he was a whistle blower instead.

Yeah, this looks fishy. AIBA covering their own asses for their stupid scoring system.

"Manipulating the competition". Sounds like he probably went to some judges and officials and told them to step their game up because their scoring sucks, later he threatens to blow the whistle and gets accused of "manipulating" by telling judges to score fucking body blows or some such garbage.

    :dunno:

Seems like every decision the AIBA has been making recently is more about covering their own asses than making actual improvments.

He was quoted on the BBC earlier claiming that refs and judges were specifically assigned at the boxer's preference. I'm thinking that's the reason he was suspended.

It's been speculated that certain judges are being given certin assignments based on their preferences.

Speculation is one thing. Running to the media an hour after a fight whose outcome you disagreed with and screaming corruption is another.
