    Good choice.

I'd also add a prime Tito, Julian Jackson, and Nigel Benn at 160 to the list.

echols, before hopkins ruined him was a very aggressive/dirty fighter.

james kirkland is another guy who likes to go in there trying to take the other guy's head off.

acelino freitas once fought that way as well before he hooked up w/ suarez.

Lets add Wlad and Vitali to that list of guys who try to kill the other then.

NEVER use KO numbers to support this argument. Power and KOs happen in a variety of ways. The numbers themselves are not indicative of inherent aggressive tendancies. Only that they're good at what they do.

Actually they're often what you can use to determine said fighter's bum count. In other words how many bums he used to pad his record. Think Ricky Hatton for instance, or Wlad Klitchko.

Whats your point? It was a counter right hand that he hurt Macca with. Besides, I did say 90%.

Well the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Haye is sort of a counter puncher, but with a tendency to be far, far more aggressive than your average counter puncher.

Like for example when he demolished that bum Enzo.

He's hardly lewis in terms of safety first counter punching.

But no, overall he's not really aggressive enough to be considered a "fight like they're trying to kill their opponent" type.

I would have to say prime Duran, prime Tyson, prime Pacman, and actually even Morales. Morales was vicious, and would just never stop fighting.

So basically, all my favourite fighters, that's why I love them :hammert::kidcool:

I'd also say a prime Benn, prime Hatton sometimes.

As far as fighters today that fight like that, not many really. Katsidis to an extent.

Certainly not Juan Diaz and margarito, they are just pressure fighters, they are not overly vicious or brutal.

I've thought about him when I read MWS's answer, he said "all my favourite fighters" but forgot to list Diego Corrales. I don't know if anyone already listed him but he certainly fits the bill.

    Shame on you MWS! :stir:

Haye is only a counter puncher in the sense that he generally waits for the chance to throw big right hands. Once he lands and has his man hurt, he is a very good finisher.

You don't have to be a hell-for-leather type just to qualify for this thread IMHO.

Agreed on Jackson and Benn (at 160) btw. McCllelan too.

Actually I very much had Chico in mind, but I decided he was borderline.

The reason being - he was an ABSOLUTE warrior, and one of the bravest fighters I've ever seen, he was aggressive and had LETHAL power, but - he was also fairly patient with it, and was just a tad less vicious than the other names I mentioned.

    He could be included though.

Maybe a little patient, I agree, but once he smelled blood he was an absolute killer.

    Good point.

And to Corrales, getting knocked down was just a way to set a trap.

It's unfortunate for him his corner didn't understand this in the Mayweather fight.

He is pretty bad too. Maybe Tam meant he is a bad man as he is a "shitty" fighter. I agree with that use of the word bad. A bad man does not make Joel Casamayor look like Julian Jackson.

Glad to see you are alive. I thought the cancer had you for sure.
