I'm going with Clottey via MD. Last time they fought Clottey was clearly winning the fight until he hurt his hand. This will be very interesting.

Margarito. I agree with Jake's prediction. Clottey's speed and defense will keep him in the fight early on, but he'll wilt, start to try to hold a lot and lay against the ropes, and lose rounds decisively to the point no judge in their right mind could give the decision to Clottey. I do think Clottey will go the distance though. He's not undefeated as Cotto was, and will therefore prefer to survive rather than try to win as Cotto did.

Aren't the excuses built into this fight after the reports of Clottey's bicep in the Judah fight? They can claim he was never fully healed.

There's certainly no excuses for Margarito being rusty, they fought a week apart.

It was real close at mid point though, it's not as if Clottey was winning every round. IMO Clottey just couldn't keep up in the second half.

Did anyone notice anything hurt about Clottey in that fight? I did not.

    I think I found it!

Clottey broke a knuckle on each hand in that fight and said that after the fifth round each punch he landed, and even those he blocked, caused him excruciating pain. They hurt when he was sitting on his stool, let alone when he had to fight a guy that promoter Bob Arum calls a “beastâ€￾ and a “freight train.â€￾

that's a guy that's beaten the living crap out of Daniel Santos in a single fight, as opposed to losing to Santos twice (as, for example, Margarito did)

That was his claim after the fight but it was later revealed that he merely hurt his hand and exaggerated the severity of his injury(-ies)

What a letdown. I don't want to see that shitbag Clottey ever. He faked a hand injury last time and still lost. He faked an injury against Judah too, a tor bicep that wasn't torn. Fuck Clottey.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Margarito win easily. I'm convinced he'll win, how, I'm not sure, but I feel it'll be easier than the first time. Margarito won the big one, usually fighters get on a new gear after that. Confidence is sky high and they're ready to take the risk needed to look devastating.

Arum probably made this fight because of Clottey's bicep injury.

Look nobody knows for sure if Clottey was really injured or not in the Margarito fight. I do know this though, he was beating the absolute dog shit out of Margarito when all of a sudden something seemed wrong. I don't know if he hurt his hand or if Margarito broke one of his ribs. The point is Margarito won the fight.

Still, I think Clottey will win the rematch. His style is just better and I think he's durable enough to handle Margarito who isn't a tremendous puncher. I think what happened in the first fight was a fluke and Margarito was looking bad enough that most forget Margarito also claimed he had a hand injury after the Clottey fight. You know it's bad if you have to fake a hand injury on a fight you won.

yeah. tell me about it. and somehow, there's people out there who think Santos beat him twice. In my mind, he's never beaten him. I'll say this though - he is the only guy in recent times that I've seen be able to hurt Margarito. even when Perez knocked Margarito down he wasn't as hurt as he was early on in the second Santos fight.

still, i agree with you. had that fight not been stopped there's no doubt in my mind Margarito would've won it. and their first bout, which somehow people seem to think Santos won, was over in what, the first round from a cut?

rather than who will win, a better question is if it actually happens at chavez ravine. and if it does will it even be filled up to the loge

Give the man a break, it must be a difficult balancing act hanging off Clottey and Shane Mosley's nuts simultaneously
