Yeah I really hope this does well. Bernstein is one of the bright spots in boxing. Too bad he doesnt work for HBO, were you see the majority of the big fights. He is one of the most unbiased analysts I've ever seen.

 

Bernstein is a complete idiot. As bad as Kellerman.

 

He's not what he was during his ESPN days (and what I wouldn't give for fight weekend coverage with him and Charlie Steiner)....but you should never compare one of the best broadcasters in the sport to Max Kellerman.

Bernstein at his best could recite past fights during live fights and tie them in seemlessly with the action.

Kellerman sounds like somebody who tried to memorize a bunch of names and dates.

 

Everytime I see a Bernstein broadcast I'm honesty baffled by the fact that he is held in high regard.

He talks absolute shit, half the things he says are wrong, he has absurd views. I think he was irately complaining the Vazquez - Marquez stoppage being premature :: What a moron.

He is also annoying to listen to, he has an annoying voice and way of speaking.

I just don't see why he is highly rated, he seems like a buffoon, I seriously don't see him as being any better than Kellerman. I think he detracts from a broadcast rather than adds to it.

 

He's a comedian.

That's because some people still remember him from his ESPN days, when he could do a broadcast by himself - or carrying someone like Dave Bontempo - and be better than than any other announce crew around.

He hasn't been as good since he joined Showtime. I think both he and Albert show favoritism to Shawtime fighters at times, whichis regrettable and does get in the way of the call of the fight...and somtimes his scores are off, IMO.

I think Marotta and Tompkins unfortunately are the same way...favoring Goossen fighters.

Still, though, I think he's miles beyond Lampley or Kellerman...he could do both their jobs during the same broadcast.

This is undoubtedly the case. He favored Chico a lot more so than others, but no doubt that you can easily identify the Shaw promoted fighter during a Showtime broadcast these days.
