I wonder how stupid Versus is going to feel finding out that $250,000 buys Bentleys and Aston Martins when all they've been getting is Honda Accords.

    Ugh. Israel Garcia.

I dont think this is terrible for Versus though. They're showcasing two guys who can headline on the big networks. I think they're in the right direction.

That's how much they were paying to Arum, though it was a monthly fee that included production/rebroadcasting of classic Top Rank fights. Not to say they still got their money's worth (they didn't, and seemingly couldn't wait for their contract w/ Top Rank to expire), but it's not their flat fee for all broadcasts.

I think they paid $150K for the Hatton-Lazcano, Malignaggi-N'Dou II doubleheader. I'm sure the Sept 24 show will be less than that, and it's actually a decent card, better than what you normally get on ESPN2 or Telefutura anyway.

yep, Arum's going to have to change his name to Teo Feliz and sneak him onto Telefutura cards.

Thanks for the correction. That makes more sense.

The Legends of the Ring series was well done, but could have used better marketing, complete fights after the main events, and far, far fewer commercials.

I'd rather Versus spend $150K for Hatton/Lazcano quality fights, for sure. The recent Ruiz rematch would have probably gone for that, for instance.
