Is also a complete bum. He is losing to Nicky Cook. It would have been funny if he really had fought Guzman, he would have been obliterated.
I really haven't seen any of him, other than his great fight with Gomez a few years back. Any fights of his besides that one that I should watch?
To be honest not really, he's not a very good fighter, and not very exciting either. He lost again tonight, to essentially a British/European level fighter. He just got outboxed for 12 rounds, it wasn't a great fight, probably not worth seeing, unless you have a particular interest in Arthur or Cook.
It was not just boring, but it was actually a pretty even fight, with a complete bum :: Audley is one of the all time worst "hyped" fighters and Olympic Gold Medalists.
Fuck me Royness, you're getting boring now. What happened to you Royness? You never talk boxing anymore, you just post silly, bitchy little comments in threads now, like a girl. No I am not really a know all, I just let it be known if me opinions about something are confirmed ;) A know all is someone that professes knowledge on subjects where they are really ill-informed. That's not me. The fact is, I've always said Arthur is crap, and I've always said Khan is crap, you'll NEVER have heard me say otherwise. Today just confirmed those beliefs.
Thanks Steve, I am not one to ride the fence, that's for sure - or to simply evade giving an opinion. And if I'm wrong - I'm wrong, like Margarito - Cotto :: I'm not sure what's got into Royness actually, he used to be a much better poster.
oh please... guys cry me a river i've always been like that. Can't someone make a joke?? How many :: s do you need? Pussywusses... And you MWS I challenge you show me proof of when did I ever post better things! :fightme:
By the way i agree Arthur is a bum... he showed it in the Gomez fight. I think british are the worst judgeble fighters ever. I dunno how many guys they have rumored to be Championship material waiting to step it up that would be put into a coma once they finally do it, like Khan today. I think in that regard they are worse than germans.
I don't like British boxing for that reason. Brits in everyday life are cool, just like me, but when it comes to boxing they are the least subjective broadcasters and in some cases, fans, ever. Of course Britain has produced some excellent boxers, but there are too many boxers that get WAY overhyped, unnecessarily hyped, and they never fulfil the hype - predictably. Scott Harrison, Alex Arthur, Fraudley, and now Khan. Well, many more too. I just wish they'd cool it with the fucking hype, and the lies. Amazing how the stupid broadcasters managed to spin it too, acting like Prescott was this world class beast, and also that Khan just "made a mistake" :: Having a bad chin is not making a mistake, it's his genetic make up. Big face retard Glenn McCrory predicted Prescott would become one of the greats :: At least Piper was a bit more honest than the others, and stated "you can learn to avoid punches better, but you can't add muscles to a chin".
Agreed with the overhyping. I'm not sure if i see it from an objective perspective here, but i think the germans are a bit more quiet with that. Of course they tell everybody the boxers on the screen want to fight for a world title one day, but i've never seen them gloating about someone like they did with Khan. Although no german ever deserved that much hype being a gold medalist besides maybe Maske and well he got that hype. But for a reason at least. He picked up a title. And we also have our fair share of bums but they are usually hidden on the non PPV. Or we know it's completely hopeless like with Häussler or Timo Hoffmann... ::
New Yorkers are just as bad. After Britain's performance in the olympics--without arguably their best fighter--they might get the last laugh. I don't know how bad Germany is because I don't speak German and their prospects are usually telecast only in German.
Arthur is, was and always has been a complete moolie. I always though he'd lose to Kevin Mitchell, and I still do, which says plenty, because as much as I like Mitchell and the way he fights, he is probably no more than a European level fighter. The beating Arthur escaped when Guzman vacated would have been as brutal as it would have been hilarious. MTF
hmm, i don't think it is time to write Arthur off yet.....i never had him down as a long reigning world champion (and i don't recall anyone saying he'd beat Pacquaio, Marquez etc...), but certainly a solid top 10 fighter.....and he didn't even look like that last night the weight issue can't be ingnored, and everything points towards those claims being genuine. Arthur has beaten - and looked good in doing so - some pretty good European names, and then all of a sudden struggled with Stephen Foster, a blown up super bantamweight, in his last fight.....and last night he was very flat At lightweight i think we'll see him looking a lot more comfortable...not sure how far he'll get....but if Warren feels that last night's display qualifies him as Khan's comeback opponent (i.e. someone for Khan to beat) he'll be very much mistaken.....Arthur would lay him out too
Yup. To be honest, it's hard to see where Werren can go to find a comeback mook for Khan to beat, considering that he scoured the world to find that Columbian last night and he laid Khan out inside a minute :: MTF
dsimon writes: They could start with a corner who taught Kahn some basics. That kid should not be getting hit with straight ramrod like jabs straight on. Then they could scour the globe for another columbian who is cross eyed and shits in his pants on command. ::
Surely, though, someone somewhere must have told Khan to fucking protect himself, Dsimon? I've been watching Khan for years, and remember him getting iced in the ABA's a few years back in exactly the same way as last night. He has NEVER protected himself adequately, and it's just not possible that no-one has told him to protect his glaring weakness (his chin) after so many years. Either he has had the worst succession of trainers in history, or he just doesn't listen. I mean, last night was hardly a shock from nowhere, was it? Even willie Limond, an absolute feather fister, had Khan almost out 18 months ago. :bangh: MTF
