Yep - he just signed a multi-fight deal with SKY Sports.
And check the SKY tag-line advertisement for it:
‘See Amir Khan's world title bid take shape'.

    WTF is going on? :dunno:

PPV to watch a contender fight a scrub - what an f**king joke.

I'd love to see somebody KO that glass jawed punk. Preferably a no body

I wouldn't watch him for free. There's nothing there except speed. The guy doesn't have two boxing brain cells to rub together.

He seems to just overwhelm and half decent fighter with speed and fitness. And when I say half decent I mean walking zombie.

Basically Allegedly Warren is turning back the clock to the early post-millenium years and doing a Hatton job on Khan. Soon we will watch him fight the Pendletons, Oliveiras, Pedersens although more likely at a lower level because Khan is more vulnerable than Hatton was...

Some have praised Warren for his treatment of Hatton, bottom line is avoid buying the product if you want the same strategy to fail

Unlike Hatton and Calzaghe....Khan actually does need a fair degree of protection....if he's struggling with a past-it Michael Gomez, then they can forget about winning a proper world title anytime soon

so that said, it is pretty outrageous that they are making Khan PPV.....if they do this for each of his fights, people will lose interest very soon. The idea behind a prospect is to build him up, and make the jump to ppv as the fighter makes the jump to world championship level.

Khan's popularity is such that they are banking on that alone to get the sales in, regardless of the opponent. A cynic may say that they are cashing in whilst they can, because he'll never reach that world level that usually qualifies a boxer to PPV status.

I don't think they'll be able to get away with that for long.....not everyone is stupid, and not everyone has 15 quid to dispose of without giving any thought to what they are getting for their money....... why would people feel as though 15 quid is justified when they can get Haye and Calzaghe on setanta for no additional fee!??!

....the shame with this, isn't that i will be missing the Khan fight....but that i'll be missing a cracking domestic fight between Alex Arthur and Nicky Cook that wouldn't otherwise be on PPV

This could back fire on Warren, if the numbers are bad and he is signed into a massive sky deal, that deal will no doubt have conditions. He may be forced to fight a decent fighter sooner rather than later.

Khan V Top lightweight = lights out.

Good question. Any time i see a real garbage card on PPV i wish they could do a survey of everyone who purchased it and ask them simply ... WHY?

I understand the antipathy towards the pay per view... That is no fault of Kahn's though. You get what you can as a fighter. Should Kahn instead say "nahh let me just be broke ass and a prospect because people should not pay a premium price for my fights?"

What I don't understand is the hostility towards guys like Kahn and Chavez junior as they ascend the ranks and learn the craft. Yes some guys get good quick. But others need to learn the game, learn the ropes to truly be good. It is a testiment to boxing that guys need this seasoning. In the old days it was part of the process.... many guys went through it. While a guy like Jones didn't need it, a guy like Tyson did.

Let the young guys move slowly... thats what I say. Let them learn to cope with their weaknesses and become better fighters in the process.... lets not rush them.

    A disgrace- plain and simple.

Werren has reacted to Calzaghe pulling the plug and Haye telling him to fuck right off by taking his one remaining 'name' fighter and trying to milk him for all that he is worth.

An utter disgrace. I wouldn't pay a red penny piece to see Khan fed a stream of scrubs and neither should any fucker else.

    But how can anyone sympathise?

If you'd seen any of his fights on ITV and the way they all built-up Khan to be some kind of punching-machine - it's almost made one want to vomit.
And now what with SKY charging folks £15 to watch a non-title fight - and advertising it 4x a day for the last 5 days (but hey - with Fraudley Harrison on the under-card no less) - it's no wonder folks are gloating.

This is exactly what I hope to happen to England's football team: a bunch of overpaid, overrated-skill wankers who don't care about playing for their country.

Does that mean my stock is rising ?

I think the kid needed that, but I do feel a little sorry for him. Terrible management. They have been blowing smoke up his ass since the Olympic games.

Ever since he fought that French dude I have been worried for Khan, especially when you look a the big dogs at lightweight.

He moaned about the original opponent pulling out, and blamed the new coach as he picked the Columbian.

    More or less...yeah

But Ive seen 3 or 4 interviews since the fight, warren did say the buck stopped with him but also said in every interview that the trainer picked the new opponent.

Sky hyped up both guys before the fight for over a week with hourly specials. Dela V Mayweather build up. I guess they weren't lying about one of them.

it's pathetic....it was a ppv fight....yet the opponent was apparently 'too dangerous'....yeah, shame on Rubio....the cuban trainer obviously wasn't aware of how Sports Network works......previous unbeaten and unknown imports have provided the viewing public with insulting mismatches (a particular Scott Harrison non-spectacle springs to mind)....

....and you know what? it is hardly as if Prescott can now be considered as an amazing fighter himself.....who is to say that Prescott doesn't get stretched in his next fight (wouldn't surprise me if Warren snaps him up)?.....we didn't see enough of him to see how good he is....he can certainly punch....mind you, with Khan's chin......

...Frankly, i have less than no sympathy for Warren on this one

Werren basically tried to blame everyone from the trainer to the spit-bucket.

Fucking spineless bastard, and a barefaced liar to boot, because he is clear as day quoted in my copy of the Mirror on Saturday talking about how he picked Prescott:

I deliberately picked this guy because he is unbeaten in 19 fights and 17 of those have been knock outs. I want to get that fear factor into Amir now

He got his wish and then some...
