darchinyan is a fun guy to watch. he's kind of a dick, but still, why would you wish for a career ending beatdown?

 

because for me, he's not fun to watch. he's infuriating. put it this way, if i never see him fight again, except to get beat down, i'll have saved myself some grief.

and as long as he crabs around the ring knocking out weak competition on Showtime, he will be a dick. only a career ending beatdown can prevent further crab-fighting.

 

I love this fight. Mijares won't KO him like Donaire did...he'll brutally beat Vic's ass for 12 rounds. I'm going to LOVE this.

 

but wouldn't a Trinidad/Vargas-esque KO in round 12 be icing on the cake? It's not impossible. By the 12th round Vic will be exhausted from loading up with his crab claws, and way behind on the cards; he'll no doubt be desperate and vulnerable.

 

yeah i was gonna say this has major potential to be Mijares-Arce redux. Granted, I think Vic's better than Arce, but don't believe he'll fare much better.

 

How is Vic better than Arce? I disagree. I think Arce would've raped Vic if they fought. In fact, after Vic takes his beating from Mijares, he should have a consulation match with Arce. That'd be good.

Vic has almost no boxing ability. All he does is crab around and pretend he's not a midget for 10 minutes.

 

I think this will be more interesting than people tend to believe. People are so dead set on judging Darchinyan based on his performance against Donaire. That he has beaten a lot of solid and top level champions/contenders like Kirilov, G. Donaire, Z Gorres, Maldonado, Pacheco seems to be swept under a rug with his one loss.
Mijares was hit by Navarro and Munoz, and I didn´t see anything that warranted the dick-sucking top five p4p-performance he received form the media afterwards.

 

I think Mijares knocks Vic out. It didn't come into play against Kirilov, but from the looks of it, Donaire shattered Vic's chin. Z Gorres came close to KTFO Vic more than once. I see a dominating performance by Mijares ending somehwere between the 6th and 9th rounds.

Bad match up for Vic. I'd pick Montiel to beat him too, but I think stylistically Montiel's a much better fight for him than Mijares.

According to Steve Kim, Andre Dirrell vs. Victor Oganov will be the co-feature to Darchinyan-Mijares.

 

Thats a ridiculous post man. Vic just dominated and stopped a good fighter in Kirilov and he would rape and beat the shit out of Arce.

 

That's your opinion. Kirilov is a small guy who looked brilliant against the crude and brutally slow Luis Perez, but even that fight he managed to lose.

Arce is not even in the same ball-park as Kirilov when it comes to style and ability.

For one thing, Arce is much stronger than Kirilov and hits much harder. He's also more aggressive which is the opposite of the kind of fighters Vic manages to look good against.

Vic likes to crab-walk his man down and load up on big shots and pretend he's not a midget. He finds that difficult to do when the other guy plants his feet and isn't intimidated.

Vic is a definite front runner.

Arce is a fierce body-puncher, and throws good combinations. And when it comes to Vic, he's a brilliant boxer by comparison. Vic is also one of the few guys out there that Arce I think would actually have a height advantage over. That would make a huge difference.

 

you must have missed Arce's last few fights, especially the last one where he got whupped by some novice thai. he's finished.

Sometimes a decisive loss is all it takes, and that is the case with Arce.

Pre Mijares I think Arce probably would have beaten chinny anne, but not now.

I pick Mijares by dominating decision.

 

I really hope Mijares beating the crap out of Vic gives him the exposure he deserves. I think he's a really good fighter who isn't afraid to stick his neck in there and fight.

He tends to take more risks than he should, but that's part of the reason I enjoy watching him fight.

 

Looks like Mijares is the latest Mexican/hardcore-only fighter to get the overrated treatment. A shame, because he's a very good fighter...but not as good as anyone here thinks.

Dariusz looks like he's actually watched Mijares and paid attention.

A win over Vic or Montiel would definately put him at the top of all the flyweights 115 and below. He is that good!

 

I have already said he's very good, but you people are treating him as if he's the next coming. He's not, nor is he one of the very best fighters in the world.

He's gotta start a good favourite over Darchinyan, but at the end of the day...for a slick guy, Mijares gets hit alot. If there's one thing Darchinyan will always be able to do, its punch. Cristian will give Vic his only chance for a victory, IMO.

And yes a win over Montiel makes him #1. He's not that right now.

I agree. I think the rat faced fella is a pretty chinny and poor fighter but he can hit like a truck. He might be one of the hardest midget punchers ever. His punches make a pretty loud thuding sound. Mijares felt the first punch and froze. I have read people saying Vic is an overrated puncher. The guy is a huge puncher.

That was a shitkicking. Vic has struggled more in Australian smokers. Showtime did a good job except for calling a slick defensive fighter. Vic D landed nearly every shot he threw. I loved watching all the ignorant racist Mexicans silenced from aout 2:51 of the first round. :bears::bears:
