DLH will tire down the stretch. Manny should and will push the pace at full throttle for the whole fight. He should force non stop activity and when DLH tires pounce!

Question? Has Oscar ever fought a more active fighter than Manny? The closest would have to be a young Mosely who is near as active and doesn't throw nearly the amount of punches Manny does.

If DLH gassed in the past would it be a stretch to think he may quit on his stool a la Kosta Zoo in the 11th or 12th? Its not like he hasn't quit before.

    Wishful thinking.

I love Manny, but he is just too small, and although his power is brutal at the lower weights, it's not going to have any effect on Oscar at 147.

Of course, I hope I'm wrong.

It would be an awesome dose of justice if Oscar did tire and got laid the fuck out, it would be even better than Khan's recent bludgeoning.

As Much as REED would Looooooooooove to SEE this Transpire, it AIN'T Happening...

If Manny Pac FORCES a Fast Pace on DeLa, he's Getting KO'ed...

It's going to be rather hard for Manny to keep up a strong pace against Oscar when that jab is in his face as he has to worry about one left hook knocking him out.

Also it's one thing for Manny to keep up a high work rate, it's another for him to go at a pace that will make Oscar tired given the size difference.

Exactly, the more punches manny throws, the more opportunities oscar has to counter with his own, and oscar without a doubt has the power to KO pacman, probably with 1 left hook, should he choose to do so.

The X-factor in this fight, IMO, is how much Oscar will have left after making 147.

The X-factor could be the scale Oscar steps on.

:bears: great complement to my X-Factor...Oscar will be weight drained and he will get gassed even more than before.

Im interested to see what weight Manny comes in at. I don't want to see him come in above the low 40's. The more he comes in at the more he kills his only advantage in speed.

Does a weight drained 147 Oscar have the same power as a comfortable 154 Oscar? Maybe not.

Probably not, but it depends how drained Oscar truely will be. For all we know Oscar might make the weight with greater ease than most people think.

This will be De La Hoya vs. Hopkins Trinidad vs. Jones REDUX.....Jones took it easy on Trinidad...throughout the fight...Hops and DLH had a deal/fix DLH would lose but Hopkins shouldn't dominate him...what did Hops did for the first 4-5 rounds of that fight??? NOTHING...pit pat..AT ANYTIME he could've ran DLH out the ring...but still can't come up with a reason for DLH ending it with a body shot ko...he would've prefer the decision defeat..

Lots of wishfull thinking in this thread. I don't see the weight mattering to much for ODLH either, he made 150 in his last fight. Considering the stipulations I am sure he knows he can make 147.

    .........

There seemed to be some confusion. Maybe he weighed 150.5 (according to a article by Jake), boxrec says he was 150. Regardless, ODLH has always been a smart negotiator. You think he is going to fight at a weight he can't make ?

Point taken. It will still be interesting to see him at welter, if he actually makes it.

The jab will be a bitch for Pac to deal with and I agree will be Oscars best weapon and if he gets the KO it will be off the jab.

Of course he can make the weight, the question is will he be drained. He was 150 for his last fight and it seemed to me he had no snap on his punches and didn't hit with much power.

Also the intial question is do you think he will tire down the stretch if Manny can make the fight go into the late rounds?

I think Forbes deserves some credit for that. He's not the most available target.

Exactly. Manny is nowhere near as defensive as Forbes. He's there to be hit and will give Oscar plenty of openings because he's so active.

This is going to be brutal. Manny is getting stopped no doubt.

Although I find this fight interesting I agree Oscar will stop Manny. I do think Mannys defense is underated though. He has really learned to keep his hands up and block a lot of shots and his feet get him out of trouble more often than not.

    I agree!

This is not a real fight. neither guy will get hurt.

If at any point Manny is in real trouble I'm sure Roach will stop the fight.

....could the x factor be Freddie Roach?......he seems super-confident.....is this fuelled purely by his confidence in Manny?.....or his bitterness against Oscar?
