RIP. Got a real bad reputation from the fans, but the guy was always pretty cool with the fans and gave some great interviews. A shame to lose anybody to that shit.

Rip.Pancreatic cancer is very lethal. By the time you have symptoms, you are dead.

Holy shit. I didn't even know he was sick.

    Damn.

He caught alot of flack from different people for his technique, but the guy was loved by fighters and respected by anyone that ever came into contact with him. While some trainers bolt from their fighter's side as soon as a fight is over, Suarez stayed with the kid at all times. He was VERY good to all fighters he came across, and was a great mentor to a few puerto rican fighters who really needed it just before his untimely passing. This is very sad news.

He caught flak because of the limited success exhibited by the fighters whose careers he took over.

But agREED with all that outside the ropes he was a cool customer, always with a kind word and plenty of notebook material. He will be missed, R.I.P.

He will forever be remembered, to some, as the man who destroyed Hamed's career.

Seemed like a likable chap though...it's a shame.

There were many factors that contributed to the Prince's downfall, and i agree with sly, Suarez was one of them...

...that doesn't take away from his work with other fighters and from him as a person....he genuinely seemed like a very nice guy......RIP

I've honestly never heard an even semi-convincing argument that Suarez benefitted any boxer he ever worked with. On the contrary...

And since I didn't know him at all, I'll just leave it at that, and save anything else for a more appropriate thread.

Suarez didn't ruined shit about hamed. Hamed was already getting near his first L. Too much talent coming up in weight. He would've suffered the same fate had he fought either morales or marquez.

To say that Suarez wasn't good is one thing, but to blame him for the hamed loss, is an ignorant statement.

    I agree about Hamed.

The fact that he had Suarez and Steward and didn't listen to either guy is enough to know Hamed fucked himself.

He was incredibly overrated to begin with and was gonna be exposed by the first elite oponent he faced.
