I'm not sure. I'd probably have to see a list of some of his cards. Didn't he score Rahman-Tua round 12 10-8 for Rahman even though the knockdown came after the bell and the ref never counted it?
Paul Williams winning a decision over Carlos Quintana. Jesus Chavez beating Floyd Mayweather after 7. James Toney and Vassily Jirov fighting to a draw was rather off. He tends to like aggressors even if they're the ones eating most of the clean blows. Oh, and I really disagreed with his scorecard of Rocky Juarez-Jorge Barrios. Didn't he have it 96-92 for Barrios after 10?
Wrong, whilst you were off galavanting around Stiges with your "boys" we established the fact that Juarez was winning at the time on the KO.

Quintana-Williams I was on HBO, along with Berto-Trabant. The rematch was Showtime. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0U-0i0GxBUg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0U-0i0GxBUg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UrzpFQB9HDs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UrzpFQB9HDs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
It's funny cuz back then, with the exception of that Chavez-Mayweather card, I agreed with Harold a lot. Sure a few were baffling but, for the most part, he was always in the ballpark, and usually the infield. He had Quartey beating Ike, had Tito-Oscar a draw, Mosley over Oscar (I think), and a few others. The past couple years have been bad.
Easy. Trinidad/DLH a draw. Oscar won at the very worst 8-4, but more like 9-3. A travesty of a fight in every way.
Tito-Oscar and Toney-Jirov being draws both stand out in my mind. Neither of those fights were remotely close. The guy can't score for shit, he pays more attention to which way the feet are moving as to whether the hands are landing. Retarded.
Didn't he have John John Molina beating Oscar de la Hoya? That would have to rank pretty damn close to the top of the list.
That's hilarious if it's true. :: Any time people try to tear down Oscar they list close fights where he got the decision. Some people bring up the Molina fight I always wondered where they got that from. It makes sense now if it's the Lederman card.
Molina deserved the benefit of the doubt in close rounds. Not only did he fight the undefeated De La Hoya....he did it while wearing a wig.
I disagree. That fight was so bad Jon Ruiz said it was a boring holdfest. That fight was a wrestling match and in no way was it a clear victory for the goldenboy. It was wretched. If you accept John Ruiz's "victories" so then you should accept the Lederman card. That type of "fight" is difficult to score.
Molina was the one doing all of the holding because he couldn't handle ODH's speed or power. Clear victory for ODH.
Precisely. John John gets credit for being the first to rough up Oscar, but that's about it. Almost as funny as Molina's weave that night (great catch, Tam Tam) was Lou Duva's prophetic advice in between rounds. A language barrier is understandable, but Duva had little else to say other than "Vira, Vira!"
