Good Job TFK... Wow, Nog edges Faber out of the 5th spot without even fighting. His coaching on TUF must have helped his P4P status. Alvarez is an interesting pick. I would guess BTG had him listed. Not sure why he bypasses some other pretty good 155-160 pounders.
I ranked Alvarez 5th, for the 2nd month in a row. The way he steamrolled through the Dream Lightweight Tourney, impressively beating Dida, Hellboy (the eventual winner) and Kawajiri proves he's an elite fighter, and if BJ Penn moves up in weight, the top 155-160 LBer. TFK
Would you pick Alvarez to beat Florian, Huerta, Griffin and Edgar? I'm a little biased, but I think Griffin is the best 155 pounder outside of Penn. But I couldn't argue against anyone having Florian or Edgar ahead of him.
Yes, yes, yes and yes. They'd all be great fights though, with the exception of maybe Edgar, who should be fighting at 145. TFK
I love Edgar, but yes, he should be fighting at 145. I think he schools Faber. Can I get a witness?artie:
I refuse to believe a fighter thats lost to Daiju Takase and Ryo Chonnan is better than or on the same level as FEDOR.The Dana White hype machine is a powerful force no doubt.
Well, if all that went into P4P rankings was lifetime resume then I would I'd have no issue with Nog being in the top 5. But for me, since we're doing the P4P rankings on a monthly basis I think consideration needs to be given to how someone has done recently. With that as a basis, I can't get past a groggy Nog getting let off the hook by Heath Herring and then struggling in a life and death battle with Sylvia. Nog has obviously slipped. Meanwhile Urijah Faber has absolutely ripped through the 145 pound division with lopsided wins over Curan and Pulver in that same span. There is no comparison in who has been more dominant as of late. When it comes to P4P I guess I'm more of a "what have you done for me lately" person.
Did the Dana White hype machine somehow help Silva absolutely destroy two of the best 185 pounders in the world in back-to-back fights? It's amazing that you will discredit Anderson for getting caught in an absolutely crazy flying heel hook, but you won't give him any credit for dominating Franklin and Henderson in back to back fights. In my opinion, over the last 2 years, no one compares to Anderson Silva in terms of opponent level and ease with which he's beaten them.
