I heard City of God was good also. I want to check it out.

    I love the ending!

The Mist was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting it to suck like The Fog did, but I enjoyed it alot. Very good horror movie IMO.

I turned it off about 35 minutes into it. It was so bad I couldn't even grasp the concept of even attempting to finish it:bangh:

I liked this movie too. Without giving away too much of the movie, I don't really care that much for the subplot though.

:bears: I was pissed when all these people jumped on the rope trying to escape from that "island", what the fuck were they thinking. :notallthere:

Man, that croc is huge, almost like a dinosaur.

HAHA lake placid is the worst movie ever.

I personally don't understand the desire to go see horror flicks, they suck.

Lake Placid was the shit. But it was a comedy, not a horror movie. :nono:

I saw a bootleged version of it. great movie, ledger was great, but the harvey dent character was pretty cool too. I did not find Batman's deep voice annoying like many other people. If he talked in his normal voice, people would figure out who he was pretty easily. Well, they could not figure out who Superman was, so maybe not.

Was a better movie than I expected, more of a drama than action. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a brilliant actor.

I thought this was alright. I went to the Twin Galaxies page.

Once I find my old NES and get the shit to work, the Dr. Mario records are going down!

I went to see Tropic Thunder last night...

For once Stiller didn't annoy me in a movie and Downey Jnr and Cruise give hilarious performances.

    8/10

THE BAND'S VISIT A fading Egyptian police band arrives in Israel to play at the Arab Cultural Center. They take the wrong bus and end up lost in a desolate Israeli village. With no other choice than to spend the night with the local townspeople, both cultures try to find a common ground in universal bonds like music, life and love. This is a comedy that has won many international awards and a lot of praise from critics. My reaction? I hardly cracked a smile. The predicament of these Egyptian police band members was too stressful to be funny. And the isolated village (in the middle of the desert!) and its bored to death inhabitants were hardly the stuff of laughs. The most rewarding aspect of the film are its main stars acting: both the old 'general' and the Israeli woman who owned the store they stayed at, gave solid performances. plus that woman exuded sexuality like no one in common casual clothes. 7/10

Death Proof was good, I enjoyed that.

I didn't care much for Planet Terror. I can't really get into those zombie-type movies, although I thought the opening trailer was hilarious, and I've always had a thing for Rose McGowan.

lb4lb made me aware of this movie with his review about a year or so ago. It is a documentary about Miami in the late 70s and 80s, and how it became the cocaine and murder capital of america. It features interviews with people from both sides of the law, and the drug queen's enforcer Rivi's stories gave me chills.

    10/10

Supposedly their making a movie movie about Cocaine Cowboys starring Mark Wahlberg. They need this guy Chris Curtis from Training Day to play Rivi. They look enough alike, he's a good actor, and he already has the accent.

Also there is a sequel to the documentary called "Cowcaine Cowboy's 2 Hustling with the Godmother". I haven't seen it yet but I plan to.

I heard it's not as good.

When I was watching CC, I imagined someone would eventually make a movie about it.

    Mark Wahlberg, though? :dunno:

Each movie we watch should be in the TAA forum. This thread is too hard to meander through and we are relegated to only responding to the few movies recently posted.

I read some reviews on amazon that were pretty good.

I heard he's trying to get his buddy Dicaprio to join in too. At any rate, no actor living or dead can trump good writing and directing.

That Roberts guy that he is supposed to play is a real character. Maybe Jon Voight could play that redneck partner of Roberts.
