The ref completely messed it up though. He should have counted and if Mayorga made it to his feet by the count of ten the fight should have gone to the scorecards with a 10-7 round for Mosley.

Shane wins the fight with the KDs for sure, but I'm glad Mayorga has another KO loss.:hammert:

I think you're right, but if he's on the canvas the ref still counts. Isn't that the "can't be saved by the bell" rule?

I literally fell asleep during the last few rounds of Berto/Forbes. The cards were ridiculous.

Mayorga WASN'T Gonna Beat the Count...

He was FLAT on his Back & FROZEN for More than 10 Seconds...

The Ref STOPPED the Fight So Mayorga Could Get Medical Attention as Quickly as Possible...

I think you have to count in that situation. Roy was in the same position against Tarver and he stumbled to his feet, unable to continue, but to his feet. I doubt Mayorga beats the count, but in this situation the ref should have given him the opportunity to get to his feet. Medical attention is a weak excuse imho.

    POOR Analogy...

Roy Laid Prone for about 2-3 Seconds, ROLLED Onto his Side, Propped Himself Up on his Forearm, Went BACK To the Canvas Momentarily & Then BARELY Missed the 10 Count...

Mayorga was FLAT on his Back & DID NOT MOVE WHATSOEVER for @ Least 8 Seconds or More...NO WAY Was he Gonna BEAT the Count N 2 Seconds or LESS, when he HADN'T Even Moved a Muscle...

PLUS, Mayorga had ALREADY Been Down 1nce Prior...

Perhaps U just WANTED to Throw the Roy KO Out There, but it's a POOR Analogy N this Instance...

Pretty lame night of fights all around. I wouldn't care if I didn't have to see Forbes fight again. I'm sure he's a great guy, but his fights simply have no suspense. His punches literally do nothing.

I was watching skilled counterpunching and Berto getting hit with jabs at will.

After the first 2 rounds (Forbes won round 11 as well), you watched Forbes get outworked. Berto missed a lot but so did Forbes. I have no idea what you were watching. That fight wasn't close.

The ref immediately put his hands on his chest and waved it off. First you say they wanted to give him immediate medical attention, now you say he gave him a eight count he just didn´t count. So what is it?

Doesn´t really matter for this fight specifically, since Mosley would have won with a 10-7 round, but for the future such situations should be discussed. I think in the 12th round after the bell, you give a fighter the count and chance to get to his feet, unless he has been knocked out cold.

shitty fights. just as anticipated. I guess you dumbasses picking mayorga sorta got a run for your money only to see him waxed in style. mosley looked really terrible at times. is it just me or has mayorga turned into a whining bitch in the ring? constantly looking to the ref for help.

and  at forbes being up 5-2 after 7 rounds

how did Lederman score it?....Sky TV had Mayorga in a healthy lead going into the 12th, and i went along with that.....surprised to see that Mosley was ahead on the official, and a lot of people's scorecards.......feels like i was watching a different fight...... Mosley was garbage, i've never seen him get hit so much......

Yeah I have to agree with this. I think that was what I was hinting at when I prematurely thought Mosley was taking over the fight in Round 6 (he wasn't). But Mayorga of all people basically asking for something to be done...WHAT? Since when??? The worst moments were when Mosely would land his one decent shot of the round and Mayorga would turn his back. I'm not talking "roll with the punches," but literally turn his back and complain when Shane would STILL (!) throw a punch.

Sloppy fight, but a spirited finish.

Berto has crazy speed. I wouldn't say its a stretch. The fighter that i would have compared Bertos speed is David Reid. He throws them the same way too.

I had the fight close... the problem was that Mayorga was winning some of the rounds because he was landing more. But Mayorga kept getting diminished exponentially at times as the fight proceeded. Thats a key fact. By the time the fight was in the middle Shane was winning the rounds... generally.

Mayorga is entertaining to watch. I think I had a good laugh for most of the fight frankly! His antics and his face? he is truly a funny guy.

Well, now Mayorga has joined Fernando Vargas as the two men whom all three of them future Hall Famers (Trinidad, Oscar & Mosley) have defeated by KO. Now Yori Boy Campas needs to fight Shane to join Mayo & Nando in the Hall of Shame. And Oscar must fight Winky Wright, so Winky can claim having defeated all three of them future Hall Famers. *Shane is too smart and too small to even consider giving Bernard Hopkins that privilege*
