Yes he's very wild but when he was in shape he gave all fighters he faced a lot of trouble including very skilled fighters.

Yes that wasn't a prime Shane yesterday but it wasn't far removed from the Shane of the Cotto and Vargas fights. Mayorgas always underrated handspeed and awkardness had a lot to do with Mosley looking as bad as he did. + His Power always made people think twice.

    WAR MAYORGA!!! :partie:

....i thought Mayorga fought a good fight, best i've seen him fight for some time.....he tired towards the end, which lead to the KO...but on the whole he did well.....i wasn't expecting prime Mosley to be in the ring last night, i expected that whatever version of Mosley turned up would be enough to beat Mayorga.....that proved to be the case, but barely....

....Mayorga is wild but that shouldn't always be viewed as negative.......to fight in an unorthodox style that gives good boxers problems makes the sport more interesting......Mayorga does this with a fair degree of skill, otherwise he wouldn't have got to where he is.....defensively there is little in the way of skill, but coming forward he can surprise you with a clever shot....he threw some good uppercuts last night, and i remember being mightily impressed by one he threw vs DLH.....too bad it was the only good thing he did in the fight

Agreed, I don't understand why he gets so much hate. Look at his CV since he burst onto the scene:

    6 Heads
    Forrest x 2
    Spinks
    E. Mitchell
    Trinidad
    Piccirillo
    De La Hoya
    Vargas
    Mosley

I'd be hard pressed to think of a guy who has fought so many respected fighters so consistently, and every time he goes all out looking for a KO.

By no means is he an elite fighter but he's never stopped swinging, he's been fun.
