Have any of these pros stipulated in their contracts that the judges who helped them achieve a medal also have to judge their professional fights?

Glazkov, the super-heavyweight, who withdrew with a shoulder injury before his semi-final has signed with K2 promotions.

Already sounds promising. Maybe he can beat Vitali's record of pulling out of fights.

Does K2 promotions work much with other European promoters?

I know they have when Wladimir has fought, but outside of when the Klitschko's fight, is there a lot of cards K2 is associated with?

 another typical bandwagonist who can't tell a difference between a talented amateur injurer and a solid pro who has an experience from great build-ups and who has produced a pull-out when it has seemed sure that the fight will actually happen.

Respect true mastery of the Art or Self-injury when you see it, brother:nono:

I didn't mean any disrespect to Vitali, i'm sure his record will remain intact. I just can't help but get excited when i see some potential.

I have no idea. Zaurbek Baysangurov, the undefeated european jr. middleweight champion, has fought on Wlad´s undercards in Germany lately, and he also had two fights per year in the Ukraine, but whether he or these ukrainian cards are really asscociated with K2 I don´t know. K2´s whole purpose seems to be the self-promotion of the brothers. Their horrible undercards weren´t even sanctioned by the German Boxing Federation, they always fight under a belgian license. It seems a odd move to go with the brothers, maybe the money was very good or he hopes he´ll have a similar career. But Universum built the brothers into the champions they are today. I doubt the Klitschkos have the expierence, desire, knowledge and all around package to guide a young up and comer to the promised land.

Plus I have no idea how good Glazkov really is, maybe they want to keep the next Povetkin down.

I guess it will also be as painful like when they leave to do their own things.

Overall I wish all of the olympians luck as pros, but I don't think I have much to base their prospects on. I'll admit I don't follow the am scene as much as I used to, but watching it feels like it's not even close to the pro style anymore. We can all spot athletic ability/speed, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for in terms of skillset now.

    Huh?

edit: Oh, I see where the quote came from. Andrade is the most talented guy on the team (maybe Rau'shee) so it is like getting dlh or roy. He's probably got more talent than dlh.

The best ams will still be the best bets to be the best pros.

Harder to follow the ams than it used to be. As much as televised boxing has improved and grown since the 90's, am boxing is surprisingly televised less, a lot less. About the only thing left is some colorado stuff, the wing open and armed forces, and the NY stuff.

what is the advantage of andrade signing with not one but two second rate promoters?

will this help him to get more opportunities to stay busy?

Boxing: Sutherland's pro debut will be on Sky -- Maloney

    Saturday November 22 2008

<!-- // authors -->PROMOTER Frank Maloney has dismissed fears that Darren Sutherland's professional debut might be squeezed out of Sky Sports' television coverage on a packed night of championship boxing.
"His fight will definitely be shown," said Maloney. "The whole show is being built around Darren and Sky are keen to present him to their wide audience.
"I have a two-year contract with Darren and all his fights during that time will be on Sky."
The Olympics bronze medallist's opponent at the Sports Complex, in Dublin City University, on December 18,will be Merdjitin Iuseinov, a 23-year-old Bulgarian with a record of one win, one loss and one draw.
"It will be a proud moment for me to fight in front of my own fans," said Sutherland. "It has always been my dream to go professional. I have been a pro stuck in an amateur's body and the longer rounds will suit me."
A student of sports science at DCU, Sutherland is putting his studies on hold while he sees how far he can go in his boxing career. He will base himself in London, where he will train under Brian Lawrence.
His scheduled six-rounder at super-middleweight will be on the undercard to Rendall Munroe's defence of his European super- bantamweight title against Fabrizio Trotta, plus two Commonwealth title bouts.
Two Irish champions on the bill are light-middleweight Jamie Moore, from Salford, and Dublin super-bantamweight Paul Hyland, along with Huddersfield-based Eugene Heagney

    Not that I've seen.

The Ukranians were very impressive at the Euro Championships earlier this month, though.

Lomachenko, Usyk and two others won gold.
