vasquez-marquez III casamayor-katsidis margarito-cotto holt-torres II margarito-cintron II (although a bit one-sided) dawson-johnson campbell-diaz mijares-navarro munoz-kawashima pavlik-taylor II (i thought it was pretty good and competitive)
:bears: great list. When was that Sechew Powell fight, it's supposed to be a real good slugfets, though I haven't seen it.
Vazquez-Marquez III (Showtime) is my top pick of the year. The rest is in no particular order: Casamayor-Katsidis (HBO) Vera-Lee (ESPN2) Margarito-Cotto (HBOPPV) Pacquiao-Marquez II (HBOPPV) Holt-Torres II (ShoBox) Reyes-Valle (Telemundo) Chavez Jr-Vanda I (TV Azteca - terrible scoring, but a brutal fight) Pavlik-Taylor II (HBOPPV) Mijares-Munoz (Ind. PPV) Luevano-Santiago was also a heck of a fight, but not sure if I loved it because it far exceeded expectations (any watchable Luevano fight will do that) or if it was just that good.
He isn't boring - in fact he's one of my favorite fighters to watch - but look at who some of those fights came against...Freitas, Corrales, Campbell, Katsidis, Marquez...entertaining fighters who've been in some really good fights. When Casa has it his way, it's not always pretty to the viewer at home. But, with the right kind of match-up, he usually brings it.
I didn't see Munoz-Kawashima, but I thought Mijares-Munoz was a damn good fight, in fact better than Mijares-Navarro. I guess I'm in the minority on both accounts.
