Margarito will toy with shane. It will be funny. Like The Terminator walking down a mere human.

Interesting Fight. Can Mosley be active enough to deter Margarito, and if he can't, is he able to find some other strategy to not get hit as much and last through the fight? If Mosley holds as much as I think he will on the inside, then it's likely to be an ugly fight. I'd expect one or both fighters to throw one another to the canvas at some point. I'd pick Margarito, simply because I don't think Mosley would do enough in the required number of rounds to win a decision.

Probably..but i think he can do what Cotto couldn't and go to Margarito's body....hard and often...

Shane is a little quicker than Cotto but his reach is less, if I'm not mistaken. I think he will find it difficult.

The hard part maybe, but not the often.

Shanes reach is MUCH longer than Cottos. Shane has a 74" inch reach and Cotto's 67". Mosleys reach is way above average for a boxer let alone a regular man of his height. I wish Shane fought in a way that utilizes his large reach but he doesnt. He barely uses his jab as much as he can and should, but I guess its just not his style of fighting.

Then he'll have no excuse when he's layed out.

I was just about to say the same thing. Shane has a great reach, long arse monkey arms.

    Cotto's reach is below average.

One thing about Mosley, he won't be the "constant retreater" like Cotto was.

    This should be a classic.

Yup, Mosley is a tough bastard, and has guts. I can see him clinching marge a fair bit, but he won't run away like cotto.

I agree with you that he has a low chance of winning and I'd make it more around 10-20%. There's a good chance Shane just had a bad fight and will look better this time out, but I doubt it. He just showed such horrid shotness in that fight and his handspeed hasn't been really seen since the Collazo fight if I'm not mistaken. But the biggest problem Shane will have is his terribly low punch output. He'll probably have more clinches per rd then punches thrown.

I still think he sees the final bell, but he should lose a UD. Hopefully this loss and the fact it was a last shot at the title will be enough to convince him to retire. He's had a great run, so he should just save the brain cells he has left.

mosley will have to forfeit his status as an elite fighter when tony is done with him.

I think he already defaulted on that a couple of weeks ago.

    Yep.

An elite name, but not an elite fighter at this point.

after watching Mosley against Mayorga no way he goes 12 rounds with Margarito.

Who cares if Shane is faster or more willing to trade than Cotto? This version of Mosley is damn near shot. He had all those advantages against Cotto and lost to him.

A year later against Mayorga you can clearly see him declining. Against Margarito he will retire with a legendary ass whipping.

I give Mosley props for taking this fight. But he really shouldn't be taking it. He has nothing to prove with this fight at this stage.

I hope Arum doens't try and put this on PPV

You know they will. I can already see the commercial now and when they show Mosley they'll probably highlight his two 1 punch KO's of Vargas and Mayorga.

I dont think Margarito has the power to stop Mosley, he is an average puncher who basically throws a lot of punches. I think a lot of ppl are thinking he'll KO Mosley because of the fashion in which he won against Cotto. Well, Cotto is not the most durable guy in the world and he's been badly hurt against many fighters (Abdulleav, Torres, Judah, Ndou, and Corley). I just dont think its an accurate comparison since Ive only seen Mosley severely hurt against one guy; Forrest, and that was only the first time they fought.

I think a lot of people are either over-estimating Margarito or under-estimating Mosley...maybe both, given their most recent performances.

He was in bad shape versus ndou. I don't think he was hurt but his shitty stamina was a problem. I don't remember Abdullaev hurting him at all.

I agree. I mean when have we ever seen Mosley hurt in so many years? Except for Forrest I cannot think of a fight in which Mosley seemed hurt even for a second.

Well, you could be right about Abdulleav, I'd have to watch it again. I do remember Cotto backing up and backpedeling a lot which he usually does when he is hurt (as opposed to holding). Probably looking back (which was a while) it might have led me to believe he was hurt at some point.

And yes, he was in bad shape against Ndou.
