Why isn't Peter getting more shit for a

fucking disgraceful quit job?

This was probably wore than Freitas' obscene antics of celebrating his quit job against Diaz. At least Freitas was taking more of a beating, Peter was getting dominated, but it's not like he was badly hurt, knocked down, or in real danger of getting brutally KTFO. Pathetic.

In fact I fucking hate peter, I have done since he first appeared.

I couldn't believe it back then when people were suggesting he was some kind of saviour of the heavyweight division ::

Look at the pics, he's getting his face mashed in and he knew as did everyone else that he had no hope in hell of winning that fight. He's too short, Vitali could've kept that up for 24 rounds by the looks of it.
Sam Peter did what he could. I mean what exactly was he going to do if he went on for another 4 rounds other than lose more years of his life?
Besides, didn't Vitali himself quit on his stool against Byrd with only 2 rounds left in the fight, giving up his WBO title in the process?

 

Vitali's was odd too, but by all accounts, it was because of a proper injury, and I guess he wanted to preserve his arm.

Peter could have continued, and not only that but he could have tried a fucking lot harder than he did.

I'm sure much of it was due to Vitali, but that was still a non effort. Perhaps even worse than Tua against Lewis.

It's not like Vitali is impossible to hit, he had his arms by his waist for the majority of the time.

 

I agree, I hate him too. I hope at least now he'll stop acting like he's god's gift to the HW division.

 

Also Hanzy, talking about Vitali is irrelevant, because actually he DID get a fucking lot of shit for that fight, for years afterwards. He got more shit for that than Peter's quitjob, which was worse.

Probably but I think more than anything we all just wanted to see a competitive fight last night and didn't. Then again when you saw them in the ring, you'd think they belonged in different weight classes. It was almost unfair how much height and reach Peter was giving up.
I guess all I can say is that Peter was out of his league, took his beating as best as he could while living to fight another day.
I guess it looks easy on tv from our perspective to judge regarding what Peter should or shouldn't have done but we've seen similar fights play out the same way including Lewis/Tua and Lewis/Tyson. Good big man usually beats good little man. And Vitali is a good big man against an average little man in Peter.
I won't crap on Peter. He at least tried to withstand the abuse for 8 rounds before he quit. I wouldn't even step in the ring with somebody that much bigger than me so I can say Peter's got a lot more balls than I do.::
Also, if you wanna talk about disgrace, go watch Tyson vs Seldon or Tyson vs Etienne. Quitters of the worst kind.

I think Vitali's criticism has a lot to do with his opponent. Byrd wasn;t going to KO him and he had a big lead. So, he got tons of shit for quitting. The circumstances were way different than Peter.

If a guy loses five rounds in his whole career he is difficult to hit. And believe me nobody was more pissed that Peter quit than me.

 

Lots of people would have traded places with Vitali when he quit thinking they could tough it out and beat Byrd.

No one would want to trade places with Peter and keep absorbing shot after shot after shot with very little, if any, chance of winning when he quit.

 

Peter quit simply because of the open scoring he knew he had not won a single round and he had zero chance of knocking out Vitali. He saw no need to finish the fight with his face disfigured.::

 

He'll be known as a quitter. What else can we do or say?

 

Upon hearing the scores, Peter should have thrown caution out of the window and try to KO Vitali or be KO'ed. The dude never was a fighter that outboxes people anyway. Personnally, I thought it was a disgracefull quit job. He didn't even need medical attention after the fight. I rarely hold quit jobs against fighters, but this time I have to.
