The public perception was skewed regarding Vitali and Lewis Hanzy. But both guys were known to be dangerous by other fighters.

Guys guys guys... I mean honestly now.... Lewis probably has a high IQ, he plays chess, speaks intelligently, trains specifically (when active) to fight a specific opponent based on analysing said opponent (by his own admission), was succesful beyond measure in the ring, rarely lost a fight and unlike present day guys, ducked no one ever.....

Yet you think this amazing athlete just stupidly... and I mean stupidly, not just like, "made an error in calculating sonething, but grossly and with no common sense what-so-ever... underestimated Vitali Klitschko?

Please bare in mind... I mean ascribing these things to Lewis specifically, I am not ascibing these qualities to you or your question.

Frankly I don't buy that. I don't know what the fuck happened but Lewis is too smart for that, it is totally out of character. Again much as with Vitalie and Rahman I could not tell you what happened but I find it hard to believe that Lewis would think Vitalie would be a pushover.

He spent about two weeks thinking of Vitali.

Yes, and to me the fact he took the fight on those terms shows that he didn't think much of Vitali

Well, reports at the time were that Lewis originally had to be talked into taking the fight.

Regardless, though, at a career high weight and near the end, he still won...so perhaps he didn't need to give him much more credit than that.

He managed to win his Bowe-Golota fight.
