Err.. no. Was Muhammad Ali gassed too because he had his hands low? Did Tommy Hearns and Roy Jones have bad left arms since they hold them low?

The way Vitali his hands allows him to throw shots from odd angles and since he hardly got hit at all in that fight, what exactly was wrong about it? And so what if his inhaling technique was nt pleasing to see? He kept up a really good pace for a man of that size.

Btw wasn't it you who called Peter "the man to beat" in the division?

Have you even seen the fight? Holy shit, for the last minute of the fight a dead tired Wlad is stumbling all over the ring which doesn't blow my theory, it solidifies it.

Again, even in boxing, everything with you has to be a grand conspiracy. It's impossible for you to believe that anything normal or natural affected Wlad.

    Unreal.

Don't argue with Petre Trplsec, because he is a far superior athlete than you, with better conditioning.

You responded to a post that said in the very first line ...

And you're asking me if I've seen the fight ?

THIS is precisely why it's not worth arguing with some of you.

I don't think anyone has stood up to Lewis' power the way Vitali did. Even though he was cut badly, and probably would've lost had it not been stopped, that fight alone tells you he's better than Wlad.

Wlad sucks. All he does since beginning to train with Steward is hold. That's the sign of a sucky fighter.

Vitali hardly held at all. And in general he doesn't. And the accuracy he has with his right hand, even thrown at odd angles, is uncanny.

yeah. Peter didn't give a very good account of himself, but Vitali had no trouble tracking down quicker fighters like Kirk Johnson either.

He uses his long arms to good affect.

Kirk's usually quicker with less blubber.

Actually my question was a sarcastic rhetorical inquiry. But seriously, perhaps you DID watch the fight, but you clearly didn't have a clue what you were seeing.

The only shocking thing is that you've yet to try and pin the drugging of Wlad on Bush and the US Government. Soon I bet.

Actually u two guys saw exactly the same... Petre isn't arguing that Wlad looked completely gassed for the last minute of the fight. You're just disagreeing on the reasons... nothing to do with the perception of the fight, imo.

Wlad has never turned into jelly that quickly in any other fight from basically nothing...

If this was a bad day, or the one body shot Brewster landed each round or his unsuccessful finishing attempt in the round before or a combination of everything i dunno... it looked very weird to me but i'm sure this is enough of an explanation to not rely solely on the drug excuse.

    Glad somebody gets it. :bears:

And I'm not saying it was definitely him being drugged , but what it was was extremely unusual for Wlad and just happened to coincide with his "defection" . He sure didn't just gas and if he's had no history in his life of panic attacks like that , there's only one logical conclusion and that's some sort of chemical imbalance caused by ... :dunno:

I tend to think this way and it is not only because I am a nuthgger. Wlad's collapse looked very weird, he suddenly turned completely pale and lost his strength.

It could have been Brewster's rabbit-punches that affected Wlad though

better is tough to say...from a technical standpoint wladimir is more sound and from a toughness standpoint, vitali certainly gets the nod.

phonetap used to work with this ukrainian chick who used to be part of the former soviet union gymnastics team and she knew both of them well. she always mantained that wladimir was the soft one and vitali was the one no one wanted to mess with. she used to say, the only thing that kept wlad form getting his ass kicked around the sports compound was fear of reprisal from his big brother. guess we all saw a snippet of that after corrie sanders knocked wlad out, vitali wanted to immediately jump in the ring and fuckup sanders...

Work with her huh? Is that what you called it when explaining the situation to the wife?

Funny story though. I remember the look on Vitali's face when Sanders beat his brother. Big brotherly instinct almost took over.

Sanders came into the Vitali match grossly out of shape, it was hard on the eyes seeing how ugly his body was. Flabby loose skin all over the place and sucking wind in the first round.
