anyone do these much? i'm going to start doing these a few times a week....like a set of 100 twice a week...just going 90 degrees to be careful on the knees beats going for a run like a goon
If they work for you, great. My son is doing them, but then again he's six months old. Good luck with that! :atu:
I do them as part of my regular leg exercises. I have been doing them after each set of leg extensions with no rest in between each exercise. I am not noticing much difference from when I used to do squats with weights. I mainly do it this way for saftey purposes at home without a spotter, but saving my knees is a secondary benifit as leg extensions are not good for them either. When I did squats with weights, I only went down about 60 degrees :nono:
going beyond 90 degrees is actually better for your knees because its the hamstrings and glutes that you bounce back up off, not the knee joint as is the case above 90 degrees. You're not gonna build any strength with bodyweight squats but they will build allot of muscular endurance & some muscle. Try working up to pistols if you're on a bodyweight kick.
:atu: i now think doing as many sets of all these different excercises you do each day is unhealthy mentally :notallthere: you've got chins, push ups, hand stand push ups, running a mile, squats, plus more i'm sure
some think I'm strange. some people smoke ciggs.. some drink a lot.. I do chins and pushups and like to exercise.. it is very health.. mentally.. almost meditative like..
but to get all that into one day you must be constantly thinking about doing something...every 30 minutes you gotta do a set of something :dunno: even most smokers dont smoke every 30 minutes...by comparing it to smoking are you saying you have an addiction? :crafty:
well.. it's all perspective baby.. smokers(who are addicted) almost HAVE to go to it.. I do not really "think" about it all the time.. I do NOT do something "every 30 mins" not at all:: I just personally feel that our bodies are really at their best when worked.. and I love the feeling of exercise..
cool myself i just can't find a balance to stop a set early enough for me to be able to recover by the set and day like if on monday nights i can do 3 reps of weighted chins....tuesday night i can only do 2 reps grease the groove sucks :crying:
roll.. grease the groove is also about not going to failure.. or for the most part not near it.. just doing them often and easy
you lie :nono: when you go out with friends you're always checking your watch nervously, biting your nails, then after 30min passes you excuse yourself to use the bathroom and go do handstand pushups using the toilet bowl....admit it lok :nono:
you can go to failure... just not too often.. once a month or so.. test yourself.. but not every workout
