Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
A 'small' exaggeration is healthy every now and then,.. nothing wrong with a lil bit of that

I haven't seen the fight yet,but wasn't completely surprised that Hopkins won this one at all!! From the get go,I had a feeling stylistically,Hopkins was all wrong for Pavlik.

I'm just surprised that Hopkins basically won a complete shut out against Kelly!! So mad props to Hopkins for that!!:bears:

By the way, great that Fightbeat is back up!! Going on other boards trying to get a RBR was fucking wank compared to Jakes RBR:hump:

The word overrated is overused, but Hopkins is "ludicrisply" overrated.

true he may not have any legends on his resume, alot of boxers dont, but he beat winky, and shut out two fighters who are in the category of very good. i think that says alot for bernard.

He didn't beat Winky. He fouled, he cheated and I still feel it was a draw. Hopkins' best legitimate and clean win was over Tarver who is an ordinary fighter.

It depends how much one wants to consider weight classes and other such conditions that ultimately can be used against a fighter.

AS usual Ike there is some truth in your rant. I mean Tarver is solid but hardly great... and Tito was smaller and oscar was smaller and Winky was not right at that weight either.

But Hopkins is great and his ability to fight inside Philly style, etc is awesome...

There will always be reasons why a fighter can be discredited... always!

And just because Pavlik is one dimensional does not make him a bad fighter... so stip using that fucked up logic please! Give the kid a few years and if he is not as slow as Jermaine he won't be so one dimensional.
