...whose approval ratings in Denmark are you guessed it OFF THE CHARTS.

In about three hours we can only hope to have a capable ref, that will save Häusslers life, when Mikkel Kessler will put on another clinic. :fightme:

Yes, very likely. The brodcast starts in about 45 minutes.

I can't see it, but according to the German r-b-r it is Kessler dominating after two. He controls it with his jab, has bloodied Haussler's nose and hurt him with body shots

And it is over in the third. Sounds like another impressive display by Kessler even though this opponent was stylistically tailor-made for him

Like I said in a previous thread, I'd like to see Kessler fight Taylor next. This is assuming Taylor gets by Lacy, which he most likely will. I think Mikkel will beat the shit outta JT, but it'll be a fun fight IMO.

Kessler says he wants to unify all the belts and wants a rematch with Calzaghe to correct a bad day.

    A bad day

He'll always have a bad day with Calzaghe. Joe is simply a better fighter.

..and we all know Joe will never give Kessler the opportunity to prove it. Same with Hopkins. He´ll be happy to fight Roy Jones, who isn´t even in teh top 10 at any weight from 160 to 175. Afterwards he´ll probably call out Tarver, then Winky and then he´ll retire undefeated. :bears:

Roy Jones is a top ten fighter @ 175 and there is no doubt about that.

That said, I do think a rematch with Calzaghe goes better for Kessler.

    Dawson
    Tarver
    Hopkins
    Calzaghe
    Johnson
    Erdei
    Cloud

Yikes you are right that division is the biggest shithole in boxing. Elvir Muriqi might be top ten.

It's not good at all. I also question why Cloud is top ten. He's an exciting fighter, but if beating the piss out of JuGo is a pre-requisite for ranking...well, Jones did it first :crafty:

Do you think there are ten better fighters at 175 than Cloud?

    Standard answer:

    A:

    Tam: Yes.

    Q: Who?

    Tam: I don´t do lists.

    B:

    Tam: No.

I agree. I'm very high on Cloud, but the JuGo fight was his first one worth a damn. Any ranking for him would be based strictly on potential, but until he can land better fights, he's on the outside looking in for the moment.

As for Kessler, good for him. Yes Haussler was made to order but Kessler did what he was supposed to do against such an opponent.

The winner of Taylor-Lacy wouldn't be a bad next step. Their fight is a WBC eliminator, but I seriously doubt HBO decides to match up and combination of Taylor, Lacy, Froch and Pascal unless they can get the fight for mad cheap (which they won't). Kessler-Taylor (or Kessler-Lacy) sounds more realistic. Though if my man Jeff somehow pulls off the upset, I can see him being forced in Bernard Hopkins' direction sometime next year.

Anyway, hopefully Kessler looks toward the best of the rest in the division for his next fight.

Can you come up with 10 fighters at 175 that have a win as good as Gonzalez. Yes that is pathetic but the reality.

I can come up with eight in the blink of an eye

    (In no particular order)
Calzaghe, Hopkins, Dawson, Tarver, Woods, G. Johnson, Jones, Erdei

And a case could be made for Diaconu, Henry and Garay being ranked ahead of him. Henry and Garay more so in looking impressive in defeat, but I doubt that either would've very much struggled with today's version of JuGo. Hell even ancient Reggie Johnson fought well enough to steal a decision.

That was it for me, when Reggie Johnson was able to beat JuGo, you knew his day in the sun had long since passed.

So do I, though how much this is down to Kessler being imrproved as opposed to Calzaghe declining is a moot point.

As much of a Calzaghe fan as I am, I think the fact that he instantly ruled out a rematch said it all...

Good to see Mikkel back in business, btw. He got a lot of shit for losing to Joe; notably from the same people who picked him to beat Joe. He's still the clear No.1 at 168 for me- Lacy, Taylor, Bute (even with a twenty count ) whoever: Kessler is a clear pick against any of them IMHO

Kessler loss to Calzhage was hugely dissapointing imo. He had the tools to get the W but Joe simply wanted more ( Joe C. is probably the strongest fighter mentally in the sport right now ). Right now, at 168, no one touch him with the exception of maybe Taylor.

Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
Calzaghe is too buisy, and too versatile for European styles,.. Kessler is as good as the European style gets,..but Calzaghe better than anyone, showed how to weave your way around it, and essentially disable it with his inside pressure, crouching, head-movement and secular attack,..

Indeed. Kessler is among the best (not biggest) punchers of the game. He fires his shots very sharp and solid. I liked those quick left hooks to the body he showed in the second round, not many are capable of those
