Among other reasons, one thing I greatly admired about Roy back in his heyday was that he was simply Roy Jones Jr. No nickname was necessary, no glitz, just knowing that when Roy fought, a one-sided ass-whipping was soon to follow. The RJ nonsense (and later, "Superman" thanks to Don King) and the constant need to reinvent himself is kinda what lost me along the way. Honestly, he now seems like he realizes the opportunities he squandered during his prime. It's just too bad he no longer possesses the skillset to match.
I think Roy will "get up" for this fight he is fast.. his pace is NOTHING Like slappys but single shots are faster and harder

in nov 1998 slappy already had his wbo title and his win over eubank, and jones was already at the top of his game. what other dream matches actually only happened 10 years later? justice would be for slappy to get old in this fight and jones knock him out.
