Per boxscene. Its in the works for Feb or March. Angulo will butcher him in under 6 rounds. Mayorga is done!
Maybe. However Mayorga is much faster than Angulo. Angulo was hurt pretty badly by Gutierrez who isn't a real big puncher. I realize Mayorga's power isn't great above 147 either but I give him a shot against Angulo.
He was, but I don't really see the point. Im not sure Mayorga is any better than Gutierrez any more, nor do I think he's any bigger of a puncher either. Angulo is definitely an "overrated" fighter though.
The point is Angulo was hurt by a guy who really isn't a puncher. Completely counting Mayorga out of this fight is kinda wrong IMO. It's not like he is facing some awesome boxer. Angulo hits harder but jesus he is slow.
Thats cool. I've seen you say similar things to X before, in fights where the other guy could win as well though. :stir: Yeah, Angulo is slow, but he kind of makes up for it with accuracy and selectiveness.
Angulo seems very deliberate in his approach. Very mechanical but i wouldn't call him robotic either, just slow. It will be interesting to see what happens if Mayorga's style and pre-fight taunts will make him open up more, and more importantly what the result would be.
Why Mayorga keeps getting meaningful fights anyway? He has not won a meaningful fight in years. He is the Andrew Golota of these divisions!
I guess this fight vs. Angulo is the "You are done fighting the Trinidad,DLH,Mosley of boxing"...now you are officially a gatekeeper i guess...? :dunno: If he does good enough vs. Angulo..he probably gets a crack at Kirkland...Joel Julio,,etc...
In this case I dont care much. Its not like its a title shot. It should be a great action fight while it lasts, but I think it'll be pretty one sided.
