good post Z I am willing to bet many fighters have done or even tried roids in the past. As long as he passes the tests now, I'm fine. I said the same thing about Barnett and Rampage.
Brocks best chance is to take Randy out early. If he doesn't do that he will have problems down the stretch(I'm not sold on his conditioning).I expect Couture and Big NOG to win there respective matches and then set up the fight that should of happened in the first place.......wow. Couture vs Nogeira I've always wanted to see these two fight :)
Here is something to think about. When was the last time someone was able to take Couture down and what was he able to do off his back? I really can't think of the last time Randy was on the bottom on the ground.
good call BYG. I have always wanted to see Nog/Couture as well. I am thinking Couture's best chance as well is to take Brock into deep waters and test his conditioning. I would hope Brock would be up to the task since this is the most important fight of his life.
I made a similar post earlier. Anyone that wins an NCAA national championship in wrestling knows how to condition. Now I don't know what kind of training Brock does, but I am sure he is taking this fight seriously, at least I'd hope so.
It is different. I grant you that. But GENERALLY speaking wrestlers have good cardio and conditioning. Koshchek, Guida, Maynard, Ortiz, Pulver, Faber, Sherk, Hughes, Henderson, and a million more. I'm not sure about Lesnar, he hasn't had his conditioning tested yet, I'm just saying he comes from a great pedigree in wrestling and for the most part wrestlers have motors that keep on turning.
I would leave Hendo out of it..he's never showed great stamina. As for Lesnar,he's not as small as those guys, carrying around 265 of muscle for 5 MMA rounds will be a problem IMO.
You and TFK bring up solid points. All I am stating is I am sure Brock is no stranger to conditioning with his wrestling background. Lets see if it translates over into MMA for him. I know if I was Randy, my gameplan would be to take him into late rounds and keeping it standing.
I know this is nothing, but i liked the video anyways. There is a video out there with his whole training in the WWE and its pretty intense. These are just snippets. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Icagdq8E6fw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Icagdq8E6fw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
just for fun here is the rock's training for that same fight. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8fLQ1rI2xZw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8fLQ1rI2xZw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
What a load of rubbish. :: Those training videos were just a way to hype the Lesnar/Rock Summerslam main event. None of these wrestlers train like this. They don't have that kind of time. They're living off a suitcase, travelling from one city to another, just trying to keep their bodies and wits together through painkillers and steroids. That's what drove Lesnar out of the pro wrestling industry altogether.
There is a longer video out there with the training. Its on a Brock Lesner DVD. You see about 45 minutes of his training. Its intense.
