When Jimmy Lennon Jr. announced the winner there was a wide shot and most of the arena was empty. Seems mexican fans left just when Mijares head landed on the canvas!::

Donaire is huge, somebody must have slipped a foot under the scale.

 

Like I said, there would have to be a crowd in order for people to leave. Attendance was shit for the fight, plus it's been raining out in Carson all day and night. No reason for fans to stick around any longer than necessary, especially if any of them were there for Mijares to begin with.

Apparently Mthalane has been stopped on a not bleeding laceration over one of his eyes. I´m not sure which eye is not bleeding, but as long as Cortez has followed Donaire´s instructions, everything is fine.

I have no idea. See post above. Looked like Donaire didn´t want to continue and he instructed Cortez to send Mthalane to the doctor, who then stopped the bout. Donaire also winced in pain, when they removed his right glove, maybe that´s the reason he kept switching his stance. It certainly felt like Mthalane was taking over the fight.

 

it appears, darchinyan is stronger and badder at 115. montiel should do a lot better since he can punch just as hard if not harder. it looks like the puzzle of mijares was solved thoroughly.

 

Does anyone know why Nonito hadn't fought for a year? Did he simply feel like a rest, or were there any managerial issues etc?

 

Montiel doesn't punch nearly as hard as Darchinyan. Please.

He certainly is better though.

montiel punches hard enough to knock darchinyan out. but then again, he could fight scared like he did vs. gonzalez and too sharp and lose the fight.

Im sure he punches hard enough to knock Darchinyan out. I don't believe I said anything to the contrary.....just that Vic punches the harder of the two.

And yeah, Montiel is a hot and cold prospect like that. Hard to say what would happen once he gets hit. Vic is always gonna be aggressive...Montiel sometimes is, sometimes isn't...when he's not, he's very vulnerable, IMO.

This was my first time watching Mijares and I didn't expect him to be that damn slow,he made Vic look like a prime Roy Jones tonight.

BTW, is Oganov the worst defensive fighter in history? I rememer a few years ago some Euro Trash and chimpy Australians were saying this clown won all his amateur fights by kayo and all of his pro(which is true). I don't believe the word bum conveys how terrible this subhuman is. I don't think Oganov is a homo sapien. He is proof of evolution when a male bowling ball mates with a bearded Russian woman.
