Just watched it. That's two fights in a row where Vic has looked like a machine against a top opponent. Impressive.

Absolutely not. D MAN is one of the absolute worst for predictions and overall knowledge of boxing.

At best he is third. Double L and LOK are far, far worse. Double L is a lightyear ahead of Lok who is wrong 93% of the time. Double is is99% and some change.

I seem to recall he is not far off those 2 though. This is surely DMAN's first correct pick in quite a while.

Vic looked good, but Mijares looked worse. When you are 115lbs, you need to throw more than 30 punches a round. Vic did, and Mijares didn't an that was the real difference in this fight.

Vic will get brutally KO'd if he fights anyone with power, his style is just not conducive to winning.

:lol:No fucking way man. Double L is in a league of his own. Honestly, I think he must be a character. If you picked randomly out of a hat, you'd get it right more than Double L.

That had quite a bit to do with Vic hitting him really, really hard every time Mijares came close or opened up.

I can settle this. Both those midget suck and suck bad. At least Vic tries to fight like a man, even though he is more midget than man.

I like how Vic's style isn't conducive to winning. One loss in over thirty fights and bunch of wins over champions and top ranked contenders.

Ike - I know Double L is in a league of his own, and LOK too to some extent, but all I'm saying is D MAN does come fairly close to these two.

This (correct) pick is a triumph and revelation for D MAN, put it that way.

agREED. The only shaky fight he's had post-Nonito was the Gorres fight, but that was only early on, as he eventually regrouped, only to get robbed in the end.

All in all, Vic's had a pretty damn good year. Kilirov wasn't all that great, but Vic made him look like a clubfighter. Mijares, despite the Monday morning quarterbacking, is a damn good fighter... and Vic made him look like a club fighter.

Might be time for some (of us) to give Vic some credit, and believe him when he said the Donaire loss actually made him a better fighter. I'd say he's all the way back to his flyweight title winning form.

I'm unfamiliar w/ DMAN's prediction record, but can confidently say he's been wrong every time Zab's been in a meaningful fight in the past three or so years. (0-4 in such fights - Baldy, Floyd, Cotto, Clottey)

That's right. So just imagine a bunch of other fight picks, with different fighters, but the same result as his Judah picks, and that should give you a fair idea of his prediction record.

I will have to take your word for it. Jake seems to be saying DMAN has supported Judah so that will definiately drop him a bit.

Honestly, Vic is listening to his corner a lot more than when I used to watch him fight down here. Hyder has done a great job with him. Sure Vic has an awkward, ugly style but to say his style isn't conducive to winning is foolish.

Hex-One would have to be my vote,.. Lok usually picks based on ethnicity or skin, Double L usually picks the one dimensional, raw, underdogs,.. but Hex,.. he's a normal chap, doing amazing things, so to speak.

    Exactly,

Other than the Judah fights I'm practically never wrong

I'll start posting in more prediction threads to repair my reputation in that regard

Fightbeat posted a video years ago of Darchiniyan beating the shit out of Vasquez in the gym. I was flabergasted at the ease he smacked Angel around with. Just this fact makes me think this fight could be more competitive than most people think.

I'm pretty sure that was art simonyan (?), and vazquez went on to kick the crap out of him when they actually fought

Just went back to check, we are both right...didn't see the darchinyan sparring, it is well known however that Vazquez often makes others look good in sparring sessions, its a different guy who shows up to fight however

I don't know pm Cupey...It was in Teddy Roach's gym and later they had Pac sparring with spider man gloves on.
