To make sure we're on the same page... the hook you're talking about, you mean the one he landed at the end of the first round when Joppy was pulling straight back with his hands down, right?

yeah - it was a hook thrown with a straight arm which means it had no snap to it - it was basically him hitting Joppy with his left arm like it was a baseball bat. and despite its horrible form, and lack of leverage (his feet weren't planted), it put Joppy on his azz. It wasn't even really a hook. There's a reason Joppy had his hands down - he was so far away from Tito. Little did he know that Tito, with his loaded gloves, could muster power with a straight armed swing of his left hand. The only thing that qualified is as a hook is that it was thrown by his left hand. But basically, like I said, he hit Joppy with it like it was a baseball bat. No way would that punch do any damage thrown like that with legally wrapped gloves. Tito would probably not even have thrown it.

Also, the right hand he finished Joppy with made a cracking sound that in no way resembled the sound made by a legitimately taped glove.

There's other clues too. Have you ever seen ODH run from an opponent all night the way he did against Tito?

Has Vargas or Reid, two guys who chose not to run, ever been the same since fighting Tito?

Has Tito had one significant knock-out since the Hopkins fight?

Do you really think Hopkins is creative enough to have invented a story about Tito wrapping his hands illegally?

Did Tito's punches seem to have no sting against Hopkins? Yes !

No I don't have proof. But unlike you, it seems, I have a healthy amount of intuition that I'm willing to trust.

and the Tito vs. Joppy fight...before the knockdown....30-40 sec. before Trinidad landed 3 good right hands..and an uppercut...and right before that extended arm left hook...Trinidad LANDED A SOLID LEFT HOOK...follow up by a right..then the extended left hook on the point of Joppys chin.

 

What I want to know is, why did Hopkins team, in the midst of celebration, all suddenly huddle together, and decide to make this shit up, it would have been better for Hopkins, to keep quiet about exposing the wraps, that way Trinidad could continue to destroy careers, making Hopkins look like a titanium beast for humiliating him, and taking his very best shots flush.

 

I remember reading all this stuff was the final blow in the psychological war Hopkins was waging against the Trinidads.

Hopkins accomplished what he wanted to and more after humiliating Trinidad and knocking him out,.. where do they conjure up the effort and motivation to take a time-out from partying, to get thier stories together and make this shit up in precise detail, which subsequently tarnishes Tito's reputation, and consequently cheapens Hopkins victory? :dunno::dunno::dunno:.

Did you see Lacy's face??... Calzaghe was in front of him all night just tearing his ass up round after round. It was one of the most one sided beatings ever.


That said, I still hope Roy wins and I'm pulling for him to beat Calzaghe's ass. I like Joe and I have nothing against him. He proved me wrong when he beat the likes of Hopkins, Kessler, and Lacy.

Calzaghe via competitive but clear decision. Roy can win this fight for sure but he'll have to be able to hurt Joe with his power.

 

Roy will not miss with that lead right hand. He will utilize a high guard and mix in double hooks and upper cuts in between Calzaghe's wide shots. He will buckle Calzaghe numerous times which will serve to effectively lower Calzaghe's work rate.

I am saying that is EXACTLY what happened. Once Hopkins blew the whistle, TITO'S power evaporated and that is a fact. Funny, Godfather tried to counter my point and bring up the mayorga fight. Lol, that proves my point. Tito landed 1400 punches on that punching bag before stopping him. He did NOTHING to Hopkins, NOTHING TO WINKY and Nothing to Roy(who was bigger, so he gets a pass.). Winky didn't even blink when Tito swung at him.

Tito is the most disgusting athlete in history. He used brass knuckeles and STILL lost ever major fight he had with world class fighters. If boxing were anything other than a circus with blood, Tito would be expunged and not allowed to participate in boxing events and banned for life.
