I saw Roy step on and off the scale already. I think Calzaghe was next and then it cut out. The undercard weigh in went fine:doh:

Something wierd happened at the weighin. When Joe stepped the scales he looked over and was obviously concerned. Rumblings followed (could've swore someone said 177 lbs) and they eventually said 174.5?

Steve Bunce of Setanta said Joe was 6lbs over this morn? If he was indeed over I'm surprised Roy's team let it go....don't think Joe's camp would've done the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

That explains why the feed cut out. Roy isn't bitching about the weight because he knows he is going to whoop him.

    Calzaghe: 174.5lbs Jones: 174lbs

Calzaghe made weight just fine it seems, Steve Bunce must have just been trying to make things sound dramatic. Calzaghe 174.5 and Jones 174.

The "Staredown" is pretty gay though...

People are trying to create drama out of the weight, but I'm pretty sure it was just a calibration issue. There's no way Roy doesn't make Joe sweat off x amount of weight, especially if he was that far over the limit. Any fighter would be foolish to not put their opponent through that, esp. when said opponent is a considerable favorite.

Good point - but don't forget, this is Roy's promotion. I'm going to guess he wouldn't love the idea of a weight controversy the day before people have the option to buy this fight.

Yeah ever since Johnson he tries to grow a beard. That might work against the Prince Adji Badji from Zamunda, but tomorrow he´ll get beaten, as much as I´d like to see Calzaghe lose.
