F*cking senile old fool. Either senile or smart. Possibly trying to sucker fans into buying another one of his fights. Knowing Jones, that is the case.
Sad when a 40 year old man has to subvert reality that wildly to try and push responsibility for his failure on to someone else.:shit: He clearly has the mindset of a 12 year old.
I have a bad feeling Roy won't let go and will end up like Evander.:notallthere: Minus the tribe of children, of course:mj:
I wonder if Roy realizes that if he hadn't gotten hit in the face so many times there wouldn't have been a cut to deal with. Who gets the blame for that, Merkerson?
LOL, I just read the interview one my favorite fighters is in some serious denial for sure. Saying if it wasn't for the cut he would of won, because he couldn't see the punches coming. But he was getting caught way before the cut came. Now RJJ wants the rematch, if he can't get the rematch with Joe he wants, the match with Johnson or Tarver now. He waited way too long to have rematches with these guys, he takes more punishement now then a few years back when he got Koed. I pray these boughts are not on PPV as well.
If roys cutman being the reason he lost isnt obvious to you guys, ide like to request u check your "fan" card at the door and go watch bowling because i think its clear as day what happened on saturday
It played a part later in the fight but what happen before the cut happen? Roy knocks him down, then doesn't do much after that, barely used his killer body shots, barely used his uppercut, and barely threw any hooks. Most of the night he was just trying to sneak in that right hand, was off, Joe saw it a mile away.
If he wants to blame the cutman he has to blame to coach merk too. I don't know what his name is but he had to operate over the ropes instead of in front of Roy like he should have been considering how bad the cut was.
His Name is Dr. Richard Lucey(sp??)... He's been w/Roy Pretty Much Since the BEGINNING...REED has All but Maybe 5 of Roy's EARLIEST Fights & Dr. Lucey's in his Corner for EVERY 1... Being Roy Jones' Cutman was Probably THE EASIEST Gig N The History of Boxing & the 1 Time Lucey was NEEDED, he Failed to Come Thru...The Cut NEVER Stopped Bleeding, but Like YOU Said, Merk Rarely if Ever Allowed Lucey INTO the Ring... Ultimately, it's Roy's Fault...Just Cause a Guy's a Dr. DOESN'T Mean he Can STOP the Flow of Blood Mid-Fight...& in NO Way did the Cut COMPROMISE the Fight... Watching the Fight, REED had ALREADY Lost that "Winning" Feeling PRIOR to Roy Being Cut... REED:mj:
"There's no doubt I would have won, and I'd fight him in Wales to prove it!" Interesting how everyone is focusing on the first part of that sentence when the second part is even less likely.
dsimon writes: This is why Fightbeat sucks so much!!! A rationale guy tells you what is up and everybody wants to doubt him! shame on all of you! 1) Joe was not showboating, he was actually scared shitless and the faces he made were to keep from shitting in his pants... which would have stopped the fight.... a turd int he draws can be means to disqualify. 2) Joe fought safe... he was afraid that Roy's vagina, I mean Roy's cut would swallow him up... Enzo would be left cursing and spitting at someone else for the remainder of the fight as Joe had to escape Roy's eye. 3) Roy was clearly winning the fight as he was tiring Joe out and planned, just about the time his eye swelled, to go get Joe. Lucky for Joe Roy's eye got in the way. 4) Roy should get an immediate rematch but should be made to fight it with Enzo... Enzo is crusty enough and about as depleted as Roy... Enzo could give Roy a run for his money at this point for sure.
I agree. Also, judges should be more accountable in situations like this. It clearly states in the rules that when a fighter is cut the judge must score the round based on what would be happening if there was no injury. They didn't do their jobs and it cost Roy a decision win, IMO.
Not only that, I think they should judge rounds based on what would have happened if Roy was prime. I think they should have stopped the fight in the first, the judges would have agreed IMO, unless they were plain haters.
True. He might overturn all of Roy's losses because his opponents had the unfair advantage of being less shot.
