Stylewise, how do they match up? How do you envision this fight playing out with Winky Wright at his peak?

Dont think Winky could handle 168 very well.

stylistcaly, joe couldn't ask for a better matchup. wright would spend 90% of the fight covered up, wouldn't trade, and would lose a wide decision by way of slappy pressure.

Mythical matchup. Winky's prime was 154, Calzaghe 168. They would have never fought prime for prime. Winky doesn't carry 168 well and Calzaghe could have never come down to 154.

Calzaghe wouldn't be able to make that weight. If he could he probably would have fought there instead of 168, the crappiest division in boxing.

The only thing that would make this fight even half-assed entertaing is both guys throw a lot of punches.

There is zero chance either guy gets seriously hurt let alone KO'd.

Just about every round would look the same with only the punchstats varying slightly.

Winky is dangerous against anyone at a weight that suites him!

like Hopkins, Calzaghe would give Winky too many angles...but yeah, winky was primarily a 154lber so it is not worthy of much discussion

Sounds like a typical Calzaghe opponent to me. How could he lose?

Yes well,..true... I agree that it's irrelevant,.. but ah,.... have we forgotten that Hopkins was adored for beating Winky,..and it is thus placed on his resume as a career best win? ....Maybe Calzaghe ought to fight him afterall?

That's indeed the trick with Hopkins,.. you know who else is mentioned on his resume?.. Oscar De La Hoya,.. I always roll my eyes and half laugh half choke when some idiot includes this on Hopkins illustrious resume of 'names',...it's precisely his trick. How bout some 'name' Light heavies, cruisers, and heavyweights Hops?, kwee hav summa them?
