artie:artie:artie: When REED 1st Heard about this Fight Being Made, his JAW DROPPED!!!...If it Lasts Looooooooooooooong Enough it Could B an EPIC Slugfest... Vera's Susceptible EARLY & Kirkland's an ULTRA-Fast Starter, but Vera's TOUGH as Hell & Kirkland's a Bit SMALLER...Vera's Fought @ 160 Primarily & Occasionally @ 168....REED Doesn't Recall Kirkland Fighting Anybody MEANINGFUL @ a Higher Weight than 154... BOTH Men WILL Get Dropped, there'll B 4-5 Toe-to-Toe Exchanges PER Round & it WILL NOT Go the Distance... Vasquez-Marquez III was More IMPORTANT & was Part of a RIVALRY, so it'll Automatically Get F.O.Y. for 2008...But Kirkland-Vera will Probably DESERVE it...If Not F.O.Y., it'll B "The WORST Display of DEFENSE by 2 Fighters", N 2008::....GUARANTEED.... Anybody Else EXCITED about this Bout????...HBO was VERY Smart to Put this on the Hatton-Malignaggi Undercard... REED:hammert:
I was surprised this fight was made, to be honest. I don't know if Brian has to come in below 160, or Kirkland's moving up. But when I first read, my initial thought was that Eric Gomez' days as a matchmaker might finally be numbered.
U DIDN'T See the Andy Lee Fight???...Vera was Also on the Most Recent Season of "The Contender", but he Got WAXED by Jaidon Codrington... BALLSY, RESILIENT Fighter who's Susceptible EARLY...But if U DON'T Get him Early, it's Usually YOUR ASS.... REED:hammert:
Hmmmm, maybe I did. I remember watching him stop Lee. I had already forgotten about him. I don't watch the Contender, I can't get in to it.
I haven't seen enough of Kirkland, but I think I saw him hurt against a bum. He got good power though. Vera is useless but tough. Well, at least he got us rid of the andy lee hype machine... ::
This fight will make the main event look even more shitty. That being said Kirkland will blast Vera something brutal.
If your think this is going to be competitive or long lasting you are on crack. Just because Andy Lee couldn't finish him, doesn't mean Kirkland will have any problems. Perfect style match up for him and some posters already put it clear Vera is in for a raping. Kirkland prolly in the first round.
Perhaps... But Bear N Mind, Kirkland is SMALLER than Vera...AND, Kirkland's AGGRESSION has Led to HIM Getting Dropped N the 1st Round Against a LESSER Fighter than Brian Vera... Kirkland'll Come Out Reckless, but Brian Vera WILL Fire Back... REED:fightme:
These Guys R More than Likely FAMILIAR w/Each Other as Well... Kirkland Resides N Austin, Tx. & Vera Moved there a Couple Years Ago, from Ft. Worth, Tx.... This is a MeaningLESS Fight that REED CAN'T WAIT to See... REED:hammert:
Because this is a CAN'T MISS "Action" Fight, that's Why...It'll B the Type of Fight that EVERYBODY Adds to their Collection... REED:hammert:
Apparently, this Fight is Gonna B Held @ MIDDLEWEIGHT, which is BETTER for Vera... U FAGS R Gonna WISH U Had Talked about this Fight More, 1nce it's Over... REED:flip:
It should be a good fight, but I think there's only so much you can say about the match-up. It's not like it requires thorough analysis and a breakdown of their styles. It should be pretty straightforward.
yep, exactly where I was going with my first post. Of course, the big question is whether or not his chin can hold up. It's a very big IF, of course. Regardless, it's gonna be fun for however long it lasts (a lot more so than the main event)
Vera is "Similar" to Calzaghe N that his Punch Resistance INCREASES as the Fight Progresses... He's MOST Vulnerable Early...But if U DON'T Get him Early, it's Usually your Ass... REED "Predicts" that if Kirkland DOESN'T Get Vera N the 1st Round, he'll LOSE... REED:hammert:
