BOBBY LASHLEY...Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion! Coming soon to challenge Brock Lesnar for the UFC heavyweight title! And soon after him, BATISTA!!!! They're coming...artie: There's gonna be a WWE invasion!!!
mike, do you realize that Brock Lesnar's UFC title win has opened up A LOT of doors to pro wrestlers now? Everybody thought WWE wrestlers were a joke who had no shot. Now they see one of their own punch out a UFC champion/legend in 2 rounds. I'm willing to bet, many pro wrestlers will make a move to MMA. And I think some of them will be successful. Many people don't want to admit it but many wrestlers are natural athletes with very decorated wrestling backgrounds. Lashley is similar to Lesnar except I believe Lashley, maybe not as good a wrestler, is a better striker. Batista, while a bit older, is practiced in Muay Thai and has some solid fundamentals. Bad News Brown was a Judo Olympic Bronze medalist and submission wrestler. The Undertaker was a 9 year amateur boxer. I think we'll see more pro wrestlers coming in and kicking ass!
That's because you're scared. You're threatened that some WWE guys might be legit and could destroy the integrity of the sport of MMA. Brock Lesnar isn't the first pro wrestler who came in and won the UFC title nor will he be the last.
What? I'm much more of a boxing fan than I am of UFC. I'm happy for the WWE guys because they've been taking shit about being fake their entire careers. It shows that they are legitimately tough.
It gives no credibility to WWE. ONE out of all of them turned out to be a good fighter, who happens to be a very decorated amateur wrestler. This says nothing about the ability of other WWE guys.
Only 1 out of 3-4 of them ever participated in MMA. The main reason being that the WWE pays a lot better. If the money improves in MMA, some would-be pro wrestlers will make that transition. There are more beasts where Lesnar came from. Many of them rolling on the mats in college, awaiting their big break...many others trying out the pro wrestling ring...
If Dana White was really smart, he would just create a special division for them and pay them good money to fight for real against other wrestlers. Then win or lose they all get paid well.
Good for them. Amateur wrestlers have never had a place to go besides "pro wrestling" They need to skip the WWE crap though and go straight to MMA.
I don't think you realize how much pro wrestling pays compared to mma. Lesnar rejected a $47 million 6 year contract with the WWE because he felt the schedule was killing him. But regardless, that kind of money is light years beyond what any mma fighter would ever get today.
Of course it would sell. But most guys just want to have a seperate entity when it comes to pro wrestling and mma. I think it's for the better.
No WWE fighter has EVER been offered that kind of money. You are making shit up. Hulk Hogan didn't even get a contract like that.
This is a fact! Vince McMahon put his entire stock in Brock Lesnar and did everything he possibly could to get him to stay. Brock Lesnar himself even said this. This is what McMahon offered Brock Lesnar to stay as a final resort but Lesnar ditched them anyway and headed for the NFL. The UFC just happens to be the third on the list of Brock's many money-making escapades.
The WWF did some bullshit back in the day where the wrestlers actually fought. The winner of it all was Bart Gunn. He was knocked stupid by Butterbean in 30 seconds.
Hanzy is making shit up again. Bad News Brown wasn't a judo master.:laughing::laughing: Undertaker wasn't a boxer, he was a basketball player.
As a one off, yeah of course that would work.....but you talking about as an enitire division with regular events?....it would undermine the competition itself because it implies that these guys are not good enough for proper UFC opposition.......its like getting some of the fastest NFL stars and having track meets.....except they are running a few tenths of a second slower than olympic sprinters ...besides that, the WWE would be in the best position to pull it off because they have the wrestlers already.....they could set up a monthly ppv themselves......that won't happen either, but that would make more sense
Sorry, I meant a 7 year/ $45 million contract. My bad. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1830855
Why are you being such an ignorant f*ck? Look at the sh*t yourself! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Coage Youtube footage of Allen Coage in Judo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAu15aLqX_4 1976 Olympic Bronze Medalist in Judo.......Bad News Brown aka Allen Coage.
Thanks for that. I was talking 'primes'. Besides, it always bothered me that a saggy hunk of unathletic sh*t like Tim Sylvia could come from bouncing at bars and become a 2 time UFC champion. There are far better, more athletic and stronger guys than Sylvia. That's why Lesnar winning the title isn't really that big of a deal. All we wanted was for MMA to maintain its integrity but that won't happen now that Lesnar is champion. Now it opens doors for would-be and current pro wrestlers, many who come from amateur wrestling backgrounds.
